Perfect for radiography students.
I've relied on the positioning and technique guidance within this book for my first year of training and have found it really helpful. I wouldn't say it's pocket size unless you have pretty big pockets but it's still small enough to have at work with you.As a first year radiography student I would definitely recommmend this book to any prospective students or anyone interested in radiology. Not only does this have technique but it's arranged alphabetically - which is ideal since we image individual bones as opposed to body parts sometimes. As a brief reminder it's useful whilst in department. However, I would say that if you're looking for a positioning guide this isn't quite detailed enough. Despite this it does have all of the required information - it's just not that in-depth (Which again is why it's perfect for use at work).I can't say I've used this for revision purposes but it has been helpful in a couple of assignments for reliable references so it's definitely something worth having - not to mention how useful it'll be throughout your training and career. Considering summer holidays are usually quite long and most students will not be getting any hands-on experience whilst Universities are on a break, this will be helpful for reminding yourself what to do before you return to your clinical placement.

To the point and a nice size to take into placement
I'm in my first year and bought this book as it was on the recommended reading list. It has been very useful in learning and practising positioning in preparation for placement and then when on placement it was a relief to be able to have it there for those times when your mind goes blank or you just want to be able to check or look something up before you go ahead with an examination. It is just what it says - it's a handbook so it will give you step by step instructions in bullet-point format. There are accompanying photographs so you can see what you are meant to be doing. At times the format does seem a little dry but it is what is and it does the job. There are a couple of helpful sections covering anatomical terminology, evaluating the image/10 point plan and then a glossary of some medical shorthand which comes in handy so I give it full marks.

Radiography student? Buy this pocket book over the others!
I looked at just about every pocket radiography book going and eventually decided on this one, and i'm glad I did. It's very clearly laid out, good pictures to help you visualise the position, and some other useful bits and pieces such as terminology, pregnancy rule, 10 point plan, trauma techniques, medical abbreviations and more. I would highly recommend this to any radiography student and has been very useful to me in my degree. The projections are pretty much just the basic standard projections, although I was pleased to see skyline projections for the patella and intercondular notch views. All in all a great book for students!

A good book, even for pros
Bought this book as a gift for a cousin, who has been employed as a radiographer for as long as I can remember. The hospital where he works is in a developing country and the facilities there are somewhat basic. Even though he qualified many years ago, he finds it difficult to keep up-to-date with current practices because of his location. He says that this book is fantasic and he's not a man that is easily impressed. That's good enough for me to endorse this book.

Was written by one of my lecturers! They're all really knowledgeable so you can trust what it says! Some views are missing like SMV but its a great book and it actually is pocket sized so you can keep it in your scrubs pocket for reference!
