UBT-1 installed on TX-NR414
Works terrific. I had to update the firmware on my ONYKO TX-NR414 first (because I bought it when it first came out early 2012 and there have been 3 or so firmware upgrades since - one of them to recognize the UBT-1 device.) (Follow the update firmware procedure in the on-line user manual for the TX-NR414. Make sure you copy all files/folders from the ZIP file onto an empty USB stick (do not copy the zip file). When update says 'completed' - use the power off button on the receiver, and make sure you had all the files on the memory stick. Update took < 10 minutes.)You'll know it's working when you pair because TX-NR414 window will recognizee the UBT-1 and display "UBT-1" in window.I'm able to play music files, Pandora, radio stations, that are on my iphone-4. Played for an hour and never lost connection. Sounds great.I don't have the TX-NR414 on my home network.I have an iphone-5 that I haven't tried, and have the ipone-4 set up to just use wirelessly (since the data contract was moved from the 4 to the 5). So - I'm using the iphone-4 as though its an ipod. And using the iphone-4 costs me nothing with carrier since I just use it wirelessly and without phone - no 3/4G network connection needed!)

Skip it
The item works fine if I'm in the same room with it, but loses connection if I take my iPhone into another room. Quite disappointing.

Good but only if you are within close range
Works OK if you are in range. I've got the adapter plugged into my receiver, and the distance between that and where I put my ipod is only about 15 feet. If I move my ipod any further than that the signal drops entirely. The sound quality is perfect IF you are in range, otherwise it just doesn't work. It's tough to say if I would recommend this, as I WISH it would have better range.

Suprisingly easy to pare with my Samsung Galaxy S3
Works as advertised. I didn't have much trouble paring it to the phone's bluetooth. I'm able to stream music & internet radio to the reciever.

Great sound, pathetic integration.
Sarcasm alert.... if you only want to listen to your phone or other bluetooth device on your Onkyo receiver, then this product is for you! However, If you want to watch movies, listen to the built in internet apps (which work flawlessly), or use your receiver for anything other than bluetooth then stay away! First off, I refuse to turn off bluetooth on my iPhone or unplug the UBT-1 everytime I use my Onkyo TX-NR818 for something other than bluetooth audio... that's not the point of bluetooth. When the UBT-1 is inserted into a USB port on my TX-NR818 it hijacks the audio every chance it gets. Unlock your iPhone for any reason and your movie will stop and your receiver will switch to bluetooth. Receive a text or any alert and your favorite song on Pandora Internet Radio will stop and your receiver will switch to bluetooth. I've contacted Onkyo and they have no resolution but admit they've had other costumers with the same complaint. I'm returning my UBT-1 and using my ancient Blackberry Music Bluetooth Stereo Gateway A2DP. The A2DP has great sound and offers better integration with my TX-NR818 than Onkyo's own product.Onkyo developers.... please study the Sony STR DN1030!! It has inferior sound quality and a frustrating user interface compared with the TX-NR818 but the bluetooth integration is phenominal! It's simple to control the bluetooth with your iPhone or the receiver and it simply works. I can enter my house, open Pandora on my iPhone and push the bluetooth icon and the Sony STR DN1030 turns on and starts playing. Brilliant! Too bad the mediocre sound quality prompted me to replace it with the TX-NR818.

Shame
Unfortunately it is not compatible with my Onkyo NR 809 which although purchased in 2012 seems to be a 2011 model! As such the UBT-1 had to be returned as it simply did not work in spite of the Onkyo setup assistance which incidentally can be lousy or excellent depending on the person you get on the phone! The first technician informed me that the UBT-1 was deficient while the second technician informed me that it would not work on my (2011) machine! Looks like I have been had by Onkyo when I purchased the NR809!

Receiver stops recognizing UBT-1 as a bluetooth dongle
At first this worked great. I plugged it in, my phone recognized it and the range was great (using the front USB). I could connect from one floor up and stream music seamlessly. The only issue I had was that any time I turned my phone on to check email/text, it would steal control of my receiver by moving the input to USB from my TV that I was watching. To get around this, I would have to unplug the USB dongle every time I wasn't using it. This wasn't too bad of an issue until I updated the firmware on my Onkyo TX-NR525. I think something with that firmware update corrupted how the drivers are recognized. Ever since the update, when I unplug the dongle, the receiver fails to recognize it when I plug it back in. The only way to restore it to a working state is to clear the whole receiver (hold down "TV/SAT" and hit the Power button). The problem with this is it resets the speaker calibration for my room. To make matters worse, I've called Onkyo's 24x7 support line 4 times and am yet to get through or get a callback from them. Pretty disappointed. I love the stereo receiver and the sound is amazing through my speaker system, but the compatibility/reliability of this accessory is terrible.
