University Physics Volume 1

I was worried about the speedy delivery of the textbook. But when I opened the package I was pleasantly surprised.I received my other textbooks from my campus bookstore, and they were not nearly as in good condition as this book.I am eager and excited to learn this year with my professor and great physics textbook.

This is truly an amazing book, especially for its price. I used it in my class and found more material that I needed or could possibly cover, presented in a well organized and up to date fashion. I am glad it is available as part of a three volume set, as a single volume would be much too heavy to carry! I would still be using it if I had not retired last year. Its only flaw in my opinion is that it contains too much material (and that can hardly be a real problem.)

You can't beat Free!!! It's a Free text book. I had to get this for Rowan College at Burlington County, Physic 2 class which I passed. I had to use this book for the sections on oscillation and waves. I remember having to pay 200 $ for physics Text book at Penn State. The book is really good and informative that explaining Physic, and it just as good as any college text book you have to pay for. If your school is asking you to get this free book, please write them a letter telling them how great they are for not being greedy. I know being a student you already broke as hell paying for the tuition.

Early on in the semester for my physics course, I would read the book and go to class - I ended up reading the first few chapters of this book., but it would always take a while to read the sections bc they were thorough and somewhat confusing. Later on in the semester, though, busyness caught up with me, and I stopped reading and started going off of my professor’s lecture notes instead. Fast forward to the last part of the semester when I needed extra help so I went back to the book and to the section that we were learning about. I couldn’t understand almost any of it, and it made me frustrated. I think that if you stop reading it, it’s hard to start reading in a higher place in the text, even after learning the material in class, which is a sign of a not good textbook, in my opinion.

It is very well written book, easy to understand. It includes problems with solutions and answers.The print quality is good. The only downside for me is that the book is quite big and heavy.

Purchased book new. Book arrived with scratches and dirt on the hardcover. Page quality is poor since you can see through the pages in the afternoon.

I've been finding this textbook very helpful for my introductory college physics course. The derivations and images are great and there are a lot of useful problems to study with.However, before buying this, you should know that it is an open source textbook that is available online so you don't need it if you don't want a physical copy.

This textbook is very well done. This subject was my major in college so I have seen a few other books. This is well laid out, good summaries for each chapter, and the contents and goals of each chapter are clearly noted. An excellent textbook.

I bought this book for a university course in physics. It is available legitimately online for free (it is an OpenStax textbook), but I thought that it would be more convenient to read from a hardcopy text. The hardcopy text that I received is three years old (copyright is 2018). The hardcopy text is black and white, but the online text is in color. Color is used extensively in the online text for the presentation of graphs and the graphs become indecipherable when presented in black and white. Also there are fundamental errors in the hardcopy text which have subsequently been corrected in the online version. I even found that some of the chapter questions are different in the online versus hardcopy text. Overall I made a big mistake in purchasing this outdated and unauthentic textbook.
