NETGEAR 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Network Switch (GS308)

Nice size, small, lightweight but sturdy, durable metal protective outer shell. Very easy to set up (little hard finding it on netgear site to register) and it works great so far. Have my TV and PS3 hooked up and printer is next once longer ethernet cable arrives tomorrow. Had to move in with parents and wifi is not reliable, so had to get something to manage all my connected devices. This was by far the easiest and most cost effective! Just had to get a long and set of short ethernet cables and this switch. Everything was easy to hook up and signal is great. Super convenient way to manage several devices from one ethernet cable! Definitely recommend! Also lifetime warranty and netgear is a proven trusted brand, so you can't go wrong. I'll be using this for a long time, as I'll be moving into an ADU and will need the ethernet switch in there also. Ends of cables fit in nice and snug but not too difficult to get them out to rearrange either. Happy with purchase for sure. Also like that the lights show which lines are connected, will be helpful if internet goes down, so I don't have to walk to the other side of the house to see that its out.

It's an 8 port unmanaged switch. I connected it, it just worked. Nothing more to say but it is a very good quality one and should operate for many years. I have used Netgear for a long time and have been well pleased with their products.

I picked up the NETGEAR 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet switch to go with my NETGEAR Orbi 370 Series, and it ended up being one of those “why didn’t I do this sooner” upgrades. My TV, gaming console, and work setup all run smoother with zero hiccups. No buffering, no random drops, just steady performance. The switch itself is as simple as it gets. No setup, no headache—just plug everything in and it works instantly. It’s small, quiet, and does exactly what it’s supposed to without drawing attention to itself. Together with the Orbi system, it creates a really balanced setup: fast WiFi everywhere plus rock-solid wired connections where it matters. If you’re already using Orbi and have multiple devices, adding this switch is an easy win.

I was having problems with my TPLINK TL-SG108E managed switch. It was always dropping down from 1gb to 10 base T no matter how I had it configured. It was beyond warranty so I replaced it with this unmanged hub and this item works great. I highly recommend this for a home network where you need to have a hub in the bedroom and one in the living room. Never buy a managed switch for a simple network. Just plug your router into port one and you're good to go. I have to drop my 5 star review to 4 stars. This switch drops speed from 1gb to 100 mb without letting you know. When you see it blink in the green a lot then it's in it's drop down condition. Resetting the unit works some of the time. I find the best solution is to leave the unit on and unplug the number one cable at the modem for 12 seconds then plug it back in. Wait another 20 seconds to do your speedtest and it should be good to go.

Very easy to setup. Allowed me to extend the number of ethernet ports on my router. I get gigabit connections. I haven't had to reboot it, ever. Seems durable. No issues with stability or cooling. Good value for the price I paid. Not much more to say about an unmanaged switch. I would purchase again.

One thing to keep in mind is it has 5 ports but you use one to connect to your router so you are gaining 4 ports by using this. It worked straight out of the box after I connected my router and items I wanted to wire to it. High quality, heavier than I expected. Maxes out my network connection. Would recommend.

Secure, works great, fast speeds, and connects without any fuss. It's not power hungry at all and has been completely dependable since I set it up. This will outlast any router or switch you buy - just make sure to keep it updated when security vulnerabilities surface, since it's still a network device.

This thing is LITERALLY plug it and it just works. After many failed attempts with other brands, I went back to the old reliable Netgear. This things built like a tank and I’m sure it will last for many years to come.
