Nioxin System 3 Treatment,6.76 oz

I am a 48 year old female. I started losing my hair after a complete hysterectomy 5 years ago. I tried many of the top stylist's products for hair loss without seeing any improvement. Most were more expensive than the Nioxin. For months I have been using the Nioxin System 3 cleanser, scalp therapy (basically daily conditioner you rinse out), scalp activator, scalp treatment and recharging complex (gel capsules). With this program I don't lose near the amount of hair I was. Yes, it is a lot of products and it adds up to a lot of money, but it was worth it to me to stop losing handfuls of hair.I started out with a starter package - small sizes of the cleanser, scalp therapy and scalp treatment. Before I had finished it I could notice an improvement. I then added the scalp activator and later the recharging complex. Each step seemed to improve upon the last, so you can decide how many of the products you want in your regimen. Perhaps the original 3 will be enough for some people.I didn't give it 5 stars because it hasn't completely stopped the hair loss - it significantly reduced it.

I think I've only posted one review for a product previously and it's early days with this one so I'm reserving a star just in case- but I expect to come back and make it a 5. I'm not sure how this product works exactly but all I can say its it does. I've been using it about 3 weeks and I've noticed less hair breakage and definitely my hair seems fuller. My extremely pleasantly unobservant hubby made a comment today about how much thicker my hair seems so if HE notices then it's definitely something. I only wash twice a week with the shampoo/conditioner and I also use K pak reconstructer with each wash(which I was already doing prior) and I use the treatment nightly. I have to say I recommend this and will try to remember to come back and update in a few months time to see if it makes a difference for hair regrowth and to make sure it's still for real...

This is the second time I have purchased this product. I use the nioxin shampoo and conditioner also. I was loosing my hair a lot when I would shampoo. I could feel the hair sliding down my leg and it freeked me out. I started using all three products and I only loose a very small amount of hair now. I love the smell of the shampoo and the conditioner also. I separate my hair after I dry it and squirt two pumps every 2 inches or so. It resembles water when applying.

I've been using this product for about a month now, in conjunction with the shampoo and the conditioner. I have some pretty severe psoriasis as well. I wanted to review this thing because when I was looking I couldn't find a single persona who had reviewed it with psoriasis! I live in Phoenix were the pollution is terrible and the humidity is next to nothing. Firstly I love it. It's the only product that when used regularly my skin starts to heal up and is soothed. I love the intensity of the mint in the conditioner, and this scalp treatment keeps everything super hydrated and soothes the inflammation. I wish I was disciplined enough to use this every single day, but I'm an every other day hair-washer. Additionally if you use Special Effects hair dye, this doesn't seem to be color safe for it. I'm not sure why either, I've used Joico K-Pac Color Therapy for years and it's done amazing things for my color, but this stuff washed it out pretty fast. Bottom line is that this stuff works. I've already seen some baby hair growth already, probably about 1/4 of an inch after a month, but for me the magic is the soothing and smoothing it does for my skin condition.

People sometimes buy a product like Nioxin thinking it'll regrow hair. WRONG. If you have hair that is weak or follicles that are struggling it CAN reactive it. It provides the perfect environment for hair growth. But I have used it in another way and it passed an acid test each time. I'm an entertainer and some summers I travel the country. In several instances due to local water my hair and scalp went into crisis and I faced hair fallout or clearly a lack of growth. I'd find a salon and buy Nioxin if I was traveling in so many places that I could not get it via Amazon. It has ALWAYS stopped the problem, and normalized my scalp beautifully. But let me be clear: I personally dn't like the way Nioxin leaves my hair. I use it once a week at least and more if I'm in crisis. The product was originally created to help cancer patients and how has many different versions for differing conditions of hair. It's used successfully by men and women. It is one of the products I would include on the top 10 products to protect and enhance hair growth. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I have used the Nioxin system 4 scalp treatment for a few years with good results. That product applies as a foam as is easy to use. System 3 is a thin liquid. The product label says to shake well. Not sure why since it does not foam up. Within seconds of applying the System 2 product to my scalp, my scalp turned a bright red and because the product is so thin, where the liquid dropped onto my skin also turned red. I immediately rewashed my hair and body and the redness did go away. I have never had a skin reaction to any other Nioxin product, nor any skin product in general, and can't imagine that the ingredients are not similar from system 3 to system 4. I now notice in these reviews that other customers have had the same skin reaction. I planned to return the product but when I looked up the sellers return policy I see that I will be charged the shipping charge that the seller initially picked up to send me the product ($6.99) + a 30% restocking fee and then there is my cost to ship the product back -- another $6.99. Clearly not worth returning, so into the trash it went. Beware of sellers' policies.
