This is easily one of the best krill oil supplements I’ve tried. The quality stands out right away, and after taking it consistently, I can tell it’s making a difference in how I feel overall—especially with joint comfort and general wellness. One of the biggest positives for me is that there’s no fishy aftertaste or burps, which is a common issue with a lot of omega supplements. These are easy to take and very well tolerated. I also like that this includes naturally occurring astaxanthin, which adds antioxidant support on top of the omega-3 benefits. The formula feels clean and well put together, not like a cheap or generic fish oil. The dosage is solid, and I appreciate the phospholipid form of omega-3s from krill oil, which is known to be more easily absorbed compared to standard fish oil. Overall, this is a high-quality product that delivers. I’ll definitely be keeping this in my routine for the foreseeable future.

I had been using ARIIX Krill. I'm a memeber of ConsumerLab, and saw VIVA Krill rated as excellent, with fewer additives. I wrote to VIVA, and here is what was sent back: "Hi Ron, ARIIX is a fish oil product combined with coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10). CoQ10 is naturally produced in the body and serves as an energy reserve for the heart and brain. Alternatively, Viva Labs Krill Oil is derived from Antarctic krill and contains no additional ingredients. Krill oil has been clinically shown to be three times more powerful than fish oil because the omega-3’s are bound to phospholipids, the identical structure found in human cells. The omega-3’s in fish oil are bound to triglycerides, which are less efficiently converted in to phospholipids. Krill oil is claimed to provide the following benefits. The frequency and degree of benefits depend on MANY factors. There is sufficiebnt evidence to show Krill Oil (and VIVA being a fine supplier) CAN, in studies HAS: Neutralizes free radicals Lowers bad cholesterol/triglyceride levels, and increases HDL (e.g. good) cholesterol levels Improves brain health Smooths skin and reduces wrinkles Decreases PMS-related symptoms Lowers the risk of coronary heart disease Increases energy and metabolism Improves joint function and eye health With this in mind, Viva Labs claims to harvest their krill from the pure waters of the Antarctic Ocean, and to immediately process them as soon as they’re sustainability harvested. Then, the company claims to use their "proprietary capliques"™ technique to seal in the freshness, to provide an advanced delivery system for maximum absorption, and to avoid any “fishy” smell or aftertaste. I have NO fishy after taste, nor does this product "repeat" after taking. Based on this communication, the benefits of strength and "useability" of the Krill, I've switched over and feel good about the choice.

Product is easy to swallow, seems to fulfill promised effects; I feel better using it. However, the last three times I have ordered it, I have noticed red-orange stains on the white filler and similar stains on my palm the first couple times I shake out a capsule. Not enough to make me stop ordering the product, but it does seem as though the wadding in the bottle is not sufficient to keep the capsules at the top from bumping against each other and causing slight leakage great product I wouldn't be put off by a slight leakage problem in 1 capsule out of 60.

I have researched krill oil on the web quite a bit. One particularly informative site describes the difference between true krill oil and phony krill oil - [...]. Note that this site does not even mention the Everest brand. However, the information presented there corroborates the contents of Everest as being legit. In selecting the krill oil, my emphasis was on the supplement contents and not the capsules. I tried source Naturals NKO and their capsules were a little sloppier than Everest's, but didn't really bother me. However, I switched to Everest because of its higher Astaxanthin content. So far as I can tell, this is the best krill oil for the money. Some have had issues with the capsules, but they are not a problem for me and I don't want to pay extra for fancier pills. If you are going to choose krill oil based on the capsules then Everest is adequate. If you want to choose a krill oil supplement by its content, then Everest stacks up favorably against any other brand out there. I wrote this review about a year about two years ago. Since that time, there have been a number of reviews trumpeting the use of a per-capsule content comparison for krill oil that have been reposted across several Krill brands. This type of analysis is invalid and these well-meaning but misguided reviews should be rejected out of hand. Its fairly obvious that capsule size and shape will vary among manufacturers. There is a reason that supplements list their contents per serving and define what a serving is. Krill oil, like most supplements, is priced by the serving/dosage. Furthermore, the labeled contents applies to one serving of the product. A krill oil comparison based on capsule content is analogous to comparing a liquid supplement based on "spoonful" content. A capsule (like a spoon) is of arbitrary, non-standard size and therefore cannot be used as a basis for comparison. Do not allow your judgement to be clouded by these capsule content reviews. Fair comparisons of price and content can only accurately be done on a per-serving basis. You should only trust "per-serving" based reviews. There is a reason that the FDA requires per-serving (not per-capsule) information be listed on a supplement label. 2. A second fallacy apparent in some reviews is that Krill Oil can be compared side-by-side with Fish Oil and "whoever has the most Omega-3's wins" . This approach is invalid as Krill Oil does not claim to have more Omega-3's than fish oil. The claim of the Krill Oil industry is that that krill oil works as effectively as Omega-3s from fish oil, yet at a much lower dose. Fish Oil versus Krill Oil is not a case of "whoever has the most Omega-3's wins." If you accept the claims of Krill Oil's bioavailability (less is more), then Krill oil is a viable alternative or addition to your supplement regimen. 3. The contents of Viva/Everest Krill oil have been verified by ConsumerLab dot com. To my knowledge, this is the only Krill oil that has been verified by Consumer Lab. Update 9-23-2013: Consumer Lab issued an updated report on 9/21/2013. Everest/Viva is now one of seven Krill Oil brands verified by CL. 4. Update 9-23-2013: The per-serving price of this product has increased since my original review. While I still regard this as a high quality product, I now use Nutrigold b/c of a better price per serving. 5. Update 12-13-2013: Nutrigold Krill made me sick presumably b/c of rank residue from leaky gel caps. I have switched back to Viva. I plan to stick with Viva for the foreseeable future. Viva's new capsules are very high quality and they don't leak (so far). 6. Update 1-25-2014: A word about Capliques: At some point since my original review, Viva switched from gel caps to capliques. Viva suggests that their Krill Oil may (or may not) be refrigerated because the cold air does not affect their capliques. Gel cap Krill oils strongly recommend against refrigeration because the cold air breaks down the gelatin capsules. Cool refrigerator temperatures break down the gelatin capsules which can allow the oil to leak and ooze and become rancid. On the other hand, cool refrigerator temperatures protect the oil from spoilage by markedly slowing down the oxidation process. So, refrigeration of gel cap krill oils is a bit of a catch-22: It breaks down the gel caps and causes them to leak, but it preserves the shelf life of the oil itself. Viva's capliques can be refrigerated and they don't leak (so far).

This is one of the few krill oil products I could find that uses fish gelatin caps vs the more common bovine gelatin. Due to alpha gal, I try to avoid mammal derived gelatin and it’s hard to stomach the taste of plain non encapsulated fish oil. So I’m thankful that this product exists even though it’s a little pricy. Next time I order, I’m going to take advantage of the savings on a 6 pack. I’ve purchased individual bottles 3 times so far. I’ve been very happy with this formula. It’s consistently fresh and feels high quality. The capsules are odorless, tasteless and easy to swallow. I don’t get gross fish burps. They don’t leak, stick together or clump. They are on the small side for krill oil caps. I do wish they were a little larger so they contained more of the active ingredients, but I just take 2 daily. Even though krill is naturally low in mercury, I love that they test for heavy metals.

First I would like to say this product arrived very timely which I appreciated. This is the fourth Krill Oil product I have tried and as I have gained knowledge as to what is needed in krill oil, I feel like I have upgraded to this product. I have constant pain from my arthritis and so I am quickly sensitive to when and how well a product works. All of the products worked well to some degree, but did not contain all of the necessary additional supplements needed in required levels. This product has what is needed. Over a period of time, with the use of Krill Oil I have found that not only did I have less pain and improved function in my joints but to my surprise my blood pressure lowered and my A1c level (glucose or sugar in the blood) dropped 2 points, and my immune system was boosted to the point I just did not pick up the colds and flu that everyone else was getting. . My doctor said he was surprised and said I seemed to be getting healthier and that I must be doing something right. (I am 62) I am a nurse and should have known better than to stop a good thing, but a friend talked me into a very expensive program of vitamins, EPA oil and gelatin tablets that cost about $200.00 a month. To give it an honest try I stopped the krill oil. I was soon walking in pain like an old woman, was loosing the use of my fingers, have had cold after cold, and my entire body is out of balance with glucose swings and my blood pressure jumped higher than it has ever been in my life. I got back on the internet, found this product and started on it two weeks ago. I cancelled the expensive products and already feel like my brain is functioning better (all the money saved). I am already cutting back on my pain pills and feel better and my blood pressure has come down slightly. I am anxious to return to my former glorious state of health. I tell everyone that they should be on Krill Oil and so far I think this is the best product I have used. You take two a day, they are easy to swallow and no fish odor or taste.

This is great and reasonably priced. From what I have researched, these types of products help with health overall. I plan to keep taking these.

Good product although a strong fishy taste compared to other Krill Oil I've purchased in the past.

Very deceptive ad. The 1250 quantity is for 2 capsules not one. Also the cotton inside was glued to the capsules, had to throw many of them

Me gusta que es amigable al estómago y que el fabricante es honesto en su exhipiente y que no usa sorbitol o manitol ni tampoco usa emulsionantes sintéticos como algunos de sus competidores, en realidad se aprecia el aceite de krill resbalar por la pastilla y considero que es una de las mejores 2 marcas del mercado, mis articulaciones y mi estómago lo agradecen.

Me gusta el producto, lo consumi tres meses. Senti mejoría en las articulaciones, mayor flexibilidad. El costo es un poco elevado.
