Q: Do these shoes grip too much for a good spin kick?

Nope, there's a pivot point built onto the ball of the foot, there is still a decent amount of grip but it shouldn't take away from your spins.

Q: My 10 y.o. recently learned she needs to wear orthotics in order to continue training in karate? Will these shoes accommodate her orthotics?

yes, I wear mine with an orthotic because the shoes have no arch support. Order 1/2 size down from her normal shoe size (instead of the recommeded 1 size down) to accommodate the orthotic.

Q: I wear a women's us size 7. which size should i order?

It depends. The sizing is men, so technically you should go 1 size down (i.e. your size is 7, for these you should order 6). Now, I'm an 8 1/2 and ordered a 7 1/2 and they fit great, with a teeny tiny bit of extra space—and if I was to train in these, I would probably go down to a 7. But other people here are finding them somewhat on the small side and instead go for 1/2 a size down. I would suggest to think of how generally shoes fit you—and if they are for training or just for everyday wear—and go from there to decide if you would need a full size down or just half (and also, keep in mind that they adapt quite well to the feet).
