Funny book just like the anime.
The book is pretty amusing and easy to read. It's pretty darn short, though only about 190 pages. If your coming from the anime, the only real difference is you get Kazumas inner monologue.

As someone who watched the anime, this is way more detailed.
As for someone who watched the anime, there’s a LOT of stuff cut out. Overall; it has a really good story and writing, the pacing is fairly easy to follow along too. I’m only on vol 1 still and I still can’t put it down.

A Blessing on this Wonderful Series!
This novel shares similarities with other isekai series, such as Re:Zero, .hack, Gulliver's Travels, and Alice in Wonderland, however this series is very self-aware and has a great comedic focus. Originally based on a web novel, and now with a manga and anime adaptation, with each having many similarities and several differences. The light novel is directly from the author whereas some important details are in this book that aren't mentioned in the other two current mediums. The characters are quite varied and all four of the main group are weird in their own unique ways, but they fit together so well. As the first in the series, this book definitely has more focus on Kazuma, the main character, and Aqua, however if you begin to develop favorites outside of those two, don't worry, as future books delve into the other characters in greater detail. This is a definite recommendation to anyone into isekai and comedy genres.

Really good start
I really liked this book and found it very difficult to put down. There were a lot of surprises, moments when the standard Isekai tropes roll in but the author will switch things up in a never-expected manner. Really looking forward to the next installment.

Hilarious
Having come to the light novels after having watched both seasons of the anime series, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was afraid that the comedic timing and hilarious delivery of the anime would be lost on written paper.Well to anyone on the fence I can safely say, the light novel is just as good if not better than the anime! Natsume Akatsuki is a genius plain and simple and really loved getting a more in depth look at the world of Konosuba. The level of writing also really surprised me, some light novels are so poorly written that while the plot seems interesting, the writing just puts you off. Konosuba is well written, a lot more than I was expecting so hats off to Mr. Akatsuki. All in all, I really enjoyed the book and look forward to more!

It's honestly one of my favorite series in the genre
It honestly took me a few pages to really get settled into it, but once the writing style found its stride I found myself really enjoying the read! I'd watched the anime before picking up this volume, and so seeing the story in a different medium was interesting. At first it felt a little flat just because of the lack of the certain atmosphere and animation gags that the anime could pull off that couldn't be immediately set up in writing. However, with the first person narration from Kazuma's perspective he is able to drag you along with him for the ride after things get going.Any fan of the anime should definitely read the light novel. And anyone looking for another humorous take on the regular-guy-gets-dragged-into-a-fantasy-world trope should give this series a shot! It's honestly one of my favorite series in the genre.

Funny
Very entertaining and gives explanation to some aspects to fully understand the anime series. A good tome for someone looking to start with the light novel world.
