"Claymore! Claymore!"
This hitch cover looks great on my 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD truck with a 2" standard receiver. Being experienced with the look and feel of a real Claymore anti-personnel mine, I'd say this replica is about 90% accurate (only because the innards are MIA). Claymores get painted based on the environment they'll be in; this one is ARMY green. It is sturdy and very well made. It's about 8 1/4 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches tall. The manufacturer even included a few anti-terrorism stickers just for fun; very much appreciated. My Claymore arrived sooner than expected and was very well packaged/shipped. Installation took about a minute. Also, I recommend you buy the "Trimax T-3BLACK Premium 5/8" Key Receiver Lock" to prevent your Claymore from switching ownership and going AWOL. It's interesting to see the expressions of drivers on my rear-view mirror as they try to make sense of what "Front Toward Enemy" means. I strongly recommend this awesome hitch cover.

Second one owned
This is a great little hitch cover. The claymore model is plastic, but the actual part that goes into the hitch receiver is powder coated steel. The reason this is my second is due to being destroyed when I was rear-ended at a stop light 2 weeks after installing. The cover actually broke apart, put on the plus side, there was no damage to my vehicle or the driver who hit me. The other driver wanted to give me insurance info and get them involved, but I told her, we could do it that way, or she could just cover the cost of a new hitch cover. We resolved it the latter. Took the money and got a new one. It looks great on this Desert Storm Vet's truck. One suggestion, as someone who has had a hitch cover stolen before, get a high quality locking hitch.

Looks so AWESOME!
This thing looks fantastic. Never paid much mind to the molding on the real thing but unless you have eyes like a hawk the only way you would see the molding blemish other customers have mentioned is if you are right at hitch. The yellow oil based sharpie I purchased really makes the letters stand out so that pople can read it from a distance.

That paint marker works great for painting the letters
Had to replace after getting rear-ended, but I paid less than what I originally paid for the first claymore. I do appreciate the customer pictures especially the ones with the yellow Markal paint marker. That paint marker works great for painting the letters. It took three coats for me to be satisfied with my yellow lettering. Just be patient when painting don't be in a rush if you want the lettering to look neat. Great trailer hitch cover and make sure you buy a trailer hitch lock so it doesn't walk off. Just make sure you keep lubing the lock with a lubricant like Liquid Wrench, Ballistol, or WD-40 so the lock doesn't seize up.

Pretty good but does have defect.
It looks pretty good only issue is in the center there seems to be like a weak point or some sort of casting issue. It’s not a big deal unless you are OCD or something but that did cause the item to lose one star as it was a fault in the product. For the price to me it was worth it but there were some sellers that had similar products listed for lower so that would be up to the individual if they wanted to go another route. I know how paranoid some people are these days and the replica plaque helped persuade me to purchase this hitch cover. I also ordered the recommended lock and yellow sharpie paint stick and they both worked great!

Awesome - I get tons of compliments every day
My work gave me a gift card to Amazon for being awesome, so I spent most of the cards value on this Hitch Cover. It is fairly expensive at $55 (prime) however compared to other nice/cool hitch covers, I feel its reasonably priced. (I wouldn't buy it with my own hard earned money as its all for aesthetics, but it was basically free for me)The claymore itself is made out of green plastic, and the 2" hitch arm is some sort of metal that is bolted into the plastic. The arm that sticks into the hitch has 2 holes in which the hitch pin can go through giving you 2 different lengths. On the sides of the claymore, were red "Replica" plastic labels that were also bolted in. I was able to remove them pretty easily with a flat head screwdriver.I installed this on my Army Green 2010 FJ Cruiser ). The Hitch cover matches perfectly with my car color-and probably any other Army Green or Olive Drab Green color. (see pics) I get tons of compliments whenever and wherever i go.Future Plans: add red LED lights where the sensors would be on a real claymore, and tie it to the brake light system so it lights up when i press my brakes.

The epitome of social distancing
Great gift for the veteran in your family. Get ready for a million questions/compliments on the street. Seems like the Vietnam era vets relate to it the most. Lot of police ask where they can get them. I've had no problem travelling to Colorado with it but ymmv. I have relatives on the sheriff's dept near Denver and they never heard of this being illegal. But it only takes one douche that does to ruin your day. So , display it with caution in some states. Not a terribly durable plastic. The aluminum receiver mount is pretty tough. My elderly father thought he lost the hitch lock key and couldn't break the mount loose no matter how hard he tried.. I colored in the letters with a Milwaukee yellow marking pen from Home Depot, worked great.
