a very affordable Deal
If you want to experiment with umbrellas and don't want to spend a fortune. Get this kit . The stands are very light weight , but sturdy enough for either the flash guns, its intended for or light weight studio Flashes like the popular 180watt (which i tried and they hold) .The umbrellas work great. includes every basic type , to get you going (shoot threw white (or bounce), reflective silver and gold) .some things i think should be done to improve the product . the white and gold umbrella’s are hollow stemmed but the tip is closed off with small aluminium cap . this cap will come off very easy. simple to fix just use some 5min epoxy and glue them in . The silver seems to have solid shaft.if one plan's to use included flash adapters I would not use the lock screw for the umbrella , the unit has a spring tension mechanism, to me the lock screw gets in the way and will damage the umbrella stems, so just remove the lock screw and don't use it.on the stands the 5/8 lug on top is just pop riveted on , this connection is not very tight , this causes lights to move around . again i would plan on putting some epoxy to lock that in, removing the movement .like others have stated , the clamping of the stand extension sections seems to slip a little under load (especially top section). have not figured out a cure for that, but just be aware of this. its not to much of a issue if using light weight equipment or light modifying attachments (so no large soft boxes). they are not even close to FX-806 types . they are light duty types.overall its a great deal for getting into umbrella use , and like others have said , if you handle with care. it should do the job and last fairly well. I think the slipping issue would cause concern , if using for STANDING Models, if sitting or lower not really a issue. Should not be a issue, for product work on tables or lower.

At this price? WOW....
Let me start of by saying that I am a professional wedding photographer with basically Nikon's best camera's and lenses. That being said, I haven't dumped a fortune into accessories(lighting equip for instance). Currently I use an SB-900 and SB-700 as my main flashes and I used those on top of these stands along with some cheap Cowboy Studio wireless trigger. I didn't want to go blowing a ton of money on something I didn't know how much I would use. All I can say is wow, how did I never use wireless more? But anway, more about the stands and umbrellas...I started off buying this companies cheaper set, can't remember which one but two orders in a row did not include the flash/umbrella mount and it was infuriating. I decided to give it one more shot with this package and got everything in the mail ok next day(This is my wifes account because I use her Amazon Prime).I think this set is WELL WORTH the cost. Everything is pretty cheap build quality, but great for how cheap it is. The flash/umbrella mounts I find to be sturdy enough to trust. All the umbrellas work great(won't take much abuse without getting destroyed, so be gentle). Lastly the stands... The stands themselves are pretty solid, but my one big complaint would be the little metal piece that attaches the stand to the flash/umbrella mount wiggles A ALOT! Its basically not a tight fit inside the metal rod and its held in with one little screw. I have no fear about it really breaking, I just wish it was much tighter. That being said, I fully trust these stands to safely hold my expensive flashes without falling over. I have done some traveling with them and they hold up well, but I would be VERY CAREFUL outdoors, because these would definitely tip over very easily!!!Long term I'll probably buy some more solid stands, but the $44 is well worth just the umbrellas alone, so I highly recommend this kit to anyone wanting to try off camera lighting as a beginner, or even a professional.I'll include a shot I took during some quick formal photos using this gear when we started getting rained on at a wedding and had to jump indoors(day after buying these). Look above in the customer images. Also you can check out my work on Facebook, look for "Flax Studios".

For a very tight budget, you get what you pay for and it will do the job.
I purchased these since I am new to strobe photography and did not want to spend a lot of money on equipment I might not use again. The construction of the light stands is sturdy enough to hold the umbrellas and flash heads. The type of Aluminum used is very soft, but strong enough not to bend out of shape. The umbrellas are good enough to bounce the light from the inner material however being this a low cost option the flash cans sometimes shine thru the Silver, or Gold umbrella which is the reason why they are so affordable is because the material used for the umbrella is somewhat translucent and easy to tear. One of my umbrellas got ripped a little bit when a Velcro from the case I have came in contact with it. In the other hand the white translucent umbrella is great for what it does, the fabric is perfect for the purpose of a shoot thru light modifier. The units get the job done and are good items to begin experimenting with. I have now purchased better quality umbrella from premium company, and I have kept using the light stands, shoot thru white umbrella and the flash holders which still work great. I say the price is good enough for the light stands and the white umbrellas. The silver, and gold come as a bonus since the quality of the materials used is low. I would recommend this kit for first time users who are experimenting and what to try out this type of photography, which can yield very good results but requires ah lot more capital investment in equipment and knowledge. I am happy with the product thank you ePhoto :-D
