Melissa & Doug Dinosaur Friends Hand Puppets (Set of 4)

This is a set of 4 brightly-coloured glove puppets for young children.Each is approx 25cm tall and 15cm wide at their widest point making them a good fit for small hands but also suitable for adults to use when playing with children. They're made from a lightweight, but tough, lightly-flocked polyester with lightly-stuffed heads and are hand or machine-washable on a gentle 30°C cycle. Ours haven't been washed yet but because there is no 'fur' pile as found on other puppets, I have no doubts they would be good as new afterwards.I confess wouldn't have instantly recognised them as dinosaurs and I'm not sure their 4 year old recipient did either, but he enjoyed the bright colours, ease of use and bashing them together as young children tend to do. Fortunately, they are well stitched, tough and durable so should stand up to and endure much toddler play.In addition to family use, I could imagine these being very popular in waiting rooms to amuse children, in playgroups and for childminders looking after small groups of children. Soft toys can be fun but puppets have additional benefits - children can bring them to life, interact with them and even express themselves and their emotions via puppets. They could also generate an interest in puppetry, communication and interaction potentially even developing an interest further into ventriloquism - as I did myself with a toy emu puppet as a child.Highly recommended for young children and especially groups of children who could each play with one from the set. Excellent value too.

My 18month old loves these

I do not have children of my own but have hardly anything in my house when my Niece ( 1 yr old) and Nephew (6 yr old) come for a visit. So was excited when they were coming over as they could help me road test these with them. It does say the age is 2+ and yes my Niece is only one but between myself and my nephew we kept her entertained for the whole time there were here. It suggests the puppets can be used by adults too but I think anyone with very big hands might struggle as they were a comfortable fit on my size Medium hands. The puppets are very tactile with an almost velour finish in bright colours and non threatening faces. Even the puppet baring his teeth is smiling😊. I can see any child spending hours of fun whether alone or with friend's and/or family. The only solid part of the puppet is the eyes, the rest being soft and plush.Well worth the price point and packaged in a plastic sleeve that was perfectly placed in an Amazon box for delivery. I highly would recommend this toy to be given to any child from the requested age group and it's nice to see that 'Melissa & Doug' do other puppets that could be collected along with these. I know as a child, I would make my own puppets to do little shows for my family, I just wish these had existed back then in the 1970's.

These are made to the usual high quality and standard you would expect from Melissa and Doug products.As the picture shows, you get four glove puppets, each in shades of a different bright colour. They are friendly-looking dinosaurs (I’ve never seen such an amiable T-Rex). Except for the eyes, they’re made of a really soft material. They are claimed to be washable; I haven’t tried yet, and there are no instructions, but I imagine a gentle hand-wash is best.They are long enough on the hand to cover all of your hand to maintain the illusion of a real dinosaur.They are supposed to be suitable for children from the age of two, but they’re a bit too big for a child of that age; I think that they might fall off their hand. The size is a small adult’s hand, so they fit my wife but are too small for me.Perfect for role playing between children or between children and adults, and children are sure to find them adorable. They are slightly on the expensive side, but they are well-made and should last a long time.

These are lovely puppets. In four lovely colours that are both bright and enable the child to distinguish between the 4 different dinosaurs easily.They are well made and soft. My son loves them.

Gave these to one of our friends who has young twins.He said you could see their eyes light up as they looked in wonder at the colourful hand puppets.They are made with the quality and care that you expect from this brand.Highly recommended
