Good Start
I did like the story. There were a few bad typos - like calling the Hillary character Wanda (the hero's sister) at one point - I had to go back and make sure I didn't miss something. Just a typo. But stuff like that bugs the heck out of me when dealing with an experienced author, sorry. And, as much as I like the story, now-a-days I am puke sick of pages and pages and pages of explicit sex - which will probably not turn others off but to it begins to feel like filler to stretch a shorter story out. I like a meaty story with a little sex, not the other way around. I can't wait to read the Beta Bull and heroine's best friend Simone's story, hopefully the next one. All in all, if she is making a series out of this, I like it!!

Hillary is not alpha mate material. She is not headstrong or confident.
Modess does not treat Hillary as a potential mate. He can be mean to others but with her he should soften. In fact, at the beginning I wasn’t sure I even liked Modess. His attitude with the PBJ sandwich was rude – she brought him a snack because he barely touched his food at meal time and he slapped it out of her hand and started berating her for even bringing him a kid’s food. He almost took her sexually at that time too because it is his right as an alpha. He sounded like a parent . . . do it because I said so and I’m alpha. I actually forgot Hillary was a wolf also, she doesn’t act like one. There are a lot of inconsistencies in this story . . . in reference to a person’s eye color, a person’s name or even the name of the wolf pack they are currently referencing. It’s a mix up that has you going back over the past couple of lines to make sure you reading it correctly. Hillary cries because she is in heat and won’t let him take care of it. The first time they have sex is about 65% of the book and she thinks she is dreaming the whole time, really? Then she blames him for taking advantage of her. By this time, I’m getting fed up with the story and Hillary is starting to get on my nerve. Her literally running away from him at the end was immature and stupid. She seriously overreacted and it was embarrassing. I actually was more interested in Bull and Simone’s story. At least he seemed enthralled with her. Who is Simone you ask? She is the supposedly best friend of Hillary that followed her from the old wolf pack to make sure she was okay. Then they never seeked each other out again through the whole story, anyway they we supposedly best friends and lived in the same pack. Go Figure.

The way to the alpha’s heart
This has to be one of my favorite books by this author. I love that the alpha falls in love with the food before ever meeting the chef. He might tell himself that it’s all about the food, but his wolf knows the truth. The author did a great job of bringing the heat, both in the way they clash as they find their path and in the bedroom. It might take a while, but these two find their perfect HEA and it is absolutely delicious.

A definate must read!
I have to say I think Susan is getting better and better with her writing. Both this book and her most recent Skin Walkers book Bellis were her best by far. I have always liked her books but now I am loving her books. Like all the others here, I am hoping this will become a series. It was so much fun to watch Modess be like the most typical of men and have no clue as to his true feelings for Hillary until faced with .... well don't want to spoil it for you. There was steamy scenes, funny dialog, tender moments, a bit of angst, girl time and of course a crisis! All the elements of a really good romance.

Great read
Out of all the books I’ve read from this author, I truly enjoyed this one. Sad part is that it was never followed up, where is Simone’s story? This story had so many enjoyable parts, drama, some suspense, love, intrigue and fantastic H/h. Only agave it a 4 star due to the typos and messed up grammar.

Change can be good
She wasn't sure what her tingly feeling was but what starts in trepidation soon becomea the catalyst that changes over not only the course of two packs but aslo the souls. I look forward to reading more books by here!

I chose you, Modess.
I love Susan Bliler, I've devoured every book she's written over and over and this one is no exception. I love her alpha males they are always dominant and sexy and Modess if definitely just that. I rarely write reviews (naughty I know) but I feel I owe this brilliant author some recognition for all her hard work keeping me entertained. I'm pretty sure I will be revisiting this book again soon and falling even more in love with Modess though I wouldn't say no to Bull either

Love a good shifter romance
Growly, possessive, surly. The makings of a classic Alpha. Loved the main characters, would have loved to have seen all the back story etc explored a bit more thoroughly. But a good story and I hope for more books in the series.
