NS-AW294BL Indoor/Outdoor 2-Way Speakers (Black,2)

Pair these with a Dayton Audio IOSUBP amp/subwoofer and they are SPECTACULAR. They're really good on their own - clear and powerful but when you bring in the low bass that only a sub can do, they're perfect. I have them installed high since they're in a patio so the soundstage is more "ambient" but still with really good stereo separation. When I tried them at ear level for testing it was like the stage was right in front of me, and you could tell exactly where each instrument and vocal was L-R. I would say paired with the Dayton Audio IOSUBP, these sound just as good as the Marantz/Martin Logan setup I have indoors. Mounting is super easy and well designed for tight space like I have between beams in the patio. Would have been really great if the connection points were behind a waterproof door, but no big deal in my case since they won't see direct rain. If these are on your comparison list, don't hesitate to get them.

These were super easy to install and sound great. We replaced an older set of Bose and these are richer sounding. We are looking forward to enjoying music on our patio.

I purchased these speakers so we could enjoy music outside on our porch without dragging out the bluetooth speaker, or tolerating tiny cell phone audio. They sound great to me, and look nice. They're a bit larger than I imagined, though I'm sure the size was correctly advertised, and they fit quite well where I put them without being too large. I've connected them to a Fosi class D mini amplifier, which is connected to an Echo Dot (both the amp and Echo are indoors), and we use the Alexa app on our phones to control the music. It works very well, and my family and I really enjoy being able to listen to music while hanging out on the porch, at least we did when it was warm enough to want to be outside. They've been installed for over six months, up under the ceiling / roof of our porch, so they're somewhat protected from the elements, and have held up well so far.

I had spent a great deal of time researching speakers for our back patio area to both enhance our TV/Movie viewing and listen to a wide variety of music. I have a very nice set-up in the house and am quite particular when it comes to sound quality and clarity. After much thought I decided to spend a little more and go with a name I have trusted for over 40 years. These beauties certainly didn't disappoint! Even running off of a low end amplifier, these speakers will kick out more sound than I will ever need. Zero distortion at high volumes and easily enough base kick to satisfy! Obviously the sound will depend on the space they are installed in and how the lows and highs react with the particulars of that space. Our patio is enclosed on 3 sides and it sounds awesome. Do yourself a favor and purchase quality, you too will not be disappointed!

Good sound good looks! using inside.

Wanted a nice outdoor speaker set that could take at least 100 watts. Read a bunch of reviews on all kinds and Yamaha seemed to have good reviews. This was a new set from Yamaha and had no reviews yet, but the specs seemed good so I picked them up. WOW! I'm running 12 gauge all copper wire about 40 feet to them and tested with Santana. We can't turn up the receiver past 3 (10 being the loudest) or they're just too loud for our neighborhood. The sound is outstanding, even at low levels. Every percussion instrument is clear as a bell. We have them mounted in our outdoor covered 28 X 10 foot patio with 12 foot ceilings, about a foot from each end of the patio and facing down at 45 degrees and you can hear each speaker anywhere on the patio. Very happy with the purchase. Only suggestion would be ability to take banana plugs as well as plain striped wire, but once they're mounted, who cares.

These have great sound considering their size. Tweeter and mid are crisp and clear, well balanced. Bass is good enough considering the size of the woofer. Easy to mount. Great design by Yamaha in that the bracket and mounting caps are recessed. A nice clean look. Yamaha designed the cabinet with a receding taper to the hole making it easier to find while screwing in the caps. Overall great design with quality sound.

This purchase was to replace existing speakers (same brand and model). Very pleased with all aspects of Amazon's fulfillment. Value and quality of these Yamaha speakers were exactly what we wanted and expected.

Very nice clear sound. Currently being used on a 50w amp on a deck and they are great! The side screws do not require tools which is good for taking them inside for the winter.

Very good value for the money (purchased the 100w version on sale for $129). To my ear these sound pretty decent in the set up that I have and location I installed them (Yamaha receiver driving the speakers in covered screen porch). They fill my space well and do get quite loud if you want them to. According to my self proclaimed audiophile friend they sound best being driven at about 65-70% - he says they’re just “ok” otherwise. Very easy to instal and quite light. I find they sound good regardless of the type of music you are listening to, but they may lack bottom end (bass) for people who like a strong bass presence. It’s decent, but lacking at times. I’d buy these again and I’d definitely recommend these to anyone on a budget. A lot of it will depend on your set up too, so keep that in mind.

We got these along with the Yamaha receiver for our patio. We are thrilled with the sound - both are working as promised. Delivery was extremely fast - they came over a week earlier than promised! We are really happy.

I am using these speakers outside; one is mounted to a wood fence, the other to brick retaining wall. Drilling into the brick was the biggest challenge in installing, but I got over that hurdle. For the price, the speakers sound great. They are fairly light, so when I took them out of the carton I had my doubts as to how good they would sound. But I was impressed with the overall sound. They cover the full range fairly well; my preference would be for a little more bass, but I'm not complaining given the price. I am hoping these are not short-lived.
