Gardner Bender HSB-28 Cable Splice Kit, 8-2 AWG, Black

I used a couple of these to connect 6awg wires to 8awg wires for a trolling motor setup. The connectors were very easy to use and provided a very solid connection. The heat shrink is very heavy duty and shrunk down to wire size perfectly. There's a good amount of adhesive and I'm confident these provide a permanent, waterproof connection.

Used these to attach a plug with 6AWG wire to a trolling motor. The connectors worked well and definitely sealed well once the heat shrink fully shrunk down. It will take a good heat source to shrink this heat shrink, it is heavy duty. I believe I had my gun to 800F to make good progress on the shrinking process. I have no concerns about the connection being water tight now.

I had to make a transition from 6/3 romex to #6 AWG under my crawl space and these splice kits were the best option. Although not ideal the 6/3 to #6 transition was the best choice in my opinion. Photo shows only about a 60% level install and not a full and complete install. I unfortunately did not get a photo of my Completed install.

Get the job done for my boat wire! Expensive could be cheaper co pared to other options

Excellent product. Very strong and easy to use. The shrink tube was definitely a heavy duty type and will provide an excellent seal. What I like the most that there was no need for any specialty tools. Vendor provided timely shipping with no issues. Five stars across the board

Easy to use. I connected #6 to #8 copper. Several reviews mentioned that the shrink was too big. It's supposed to be like that. It has gel inside. Use a torch and excercise some patience. It will shrink tight and the gel will seep out when done.

For the price, the manufacturer could at least give a little more information about the product. This type of thing should only be about $5. I wish I read the reviews, but this does not really work for 2AWG wire, and especially not aluminum stranded 2AWG. The reason why is that there's not enough engagement for the set screw. If you wish to use it on 2AWG stranded, you'll probably have to break some rules and either grind down the rounded end of the set screw a bit, or clip one or two of the strands partially on the wire such that the set screw can engage, yet all strands are present just outside of this set screw area so that when the set screw is tightened all strands are compacted and there is not a hot zone of high resistance due to the stand that was cut short. Manufacturer should have given all the specs in their pictures, but didn't, so I've uploaded a copy.

Très bon kit pour faire les jonctions souterraines. Le "shrink" contient de la colle à l'intérieur qui vient tout sceller comme il faut.
