I have the 200 that I sue with my D90, but I'm wondering how this will do on my D90. I'd also like a multiplier?

This lens works great with my D90. If I knew how I would post a picture. The multiplier is 1.5, so it is equivalent to 120-600. With the D7100 I am hoping to buy soon there is a 1.3 multiplier on top of the 1.5 so at the long end it would be 800mm equivalent. Hope this helps

Yes it will work with a D3100, However it becomes a 120-600mm equivalent lens with the D3100's APS-C sensor which has a 1.5x crop factor. It would be a great lens for wildlife photography.

Got mine today - doesn't work in continuous auto-focus mode and has quite a bit of vignetting. Is this just the way it is?

No. First, continuous auto-focus is provided by your camera, not the lens. There is no reason why your 80-400G should not work in AF-C. As to vignette, what you find to be "quite a bit" may be different from what others think. I suggest you compare the DxOMark scores for this lens against others you know and use. If your lens's performance is substantially worse than that, it may be out of alignment or have a problem that Nikon Service needs to address. But do keep in mind that we, the users, are often the ones who have made a mistake somewhere in settings or process. Check your lens, but check yourself too.
