If you are new to soft wax, this is a good honey wax to learn with. Applies easily at the right temp, I know not all warmers have an actual thermometer, but as long as you get this to look like the consistency of honey, you're golden. Technique comes into play, as always, wirh application and removal, but if you have learned the tips, tricks and hacks - this is a good wax! Probably some of the only soft wax I prefer right now. Just remember (for those of you NEW to waxing): - apply a THIN layer - apply with consistent pressure - apply wax with popsicle/craft stick - apply wax at a 45° to the skin and in the direction of hair growth - apply precut wax strip - rub max 2x (to adhere wax to strip before removal) - hold skin taught/tight & pull in the OPPOSITE direction of the hair growth - removal pull should be as parallel & close to the skin as possible to avoid hairs breaking or wax being only half removed. You didn't ask for all that, but I am SURE there is a non licensed person on here buying this to do at home. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do your research before waxing yourself or others. ***Check to make sure you are NOT CONTRAINDICATED before waxing*** Also make sure to exfoliate 2-3 days PRIOR to waxing, and WAIT 2-3 day POST WAX to exfoliate again. *****Major key note****** Soft wax can only be done once on the skin, this does adhere to hair AND skin, so there is the possibility for skin lifting, so if uou NEED to continue to wax - either wait a couple days and redo it with soft wax, or buy yourself some hard wax too!! Okay, I'm done, I know there's so much more I can say, but this is a review and I turned it into a lesson. Lol go have fun waxing - be safe - wear gloves - be sanitary!!!

I really, really love this wax. I got the student starter kit around March and got this one to replace the wax I went through around August. So one can lasted me around 5 months, which is great. I use it for my legs and upper lip area and this wax works great on both. I really like the quality of this wax. I find it very easy to apply and I almost never have to go through the same area more than twice. With that being said, I've not used razors/creams etc. more than a few times in my entire life. I'm 26 and I've been getting waxed since I was 12/13. So having seen it done to me by professionals a billion times, I'm pretty familiar with the application. Since I had a great experience with this wax I thought sharing what I do could be helpful to some people/beginners out there. Consistency: The consistency is key. It should be like honey (I actually like it just a tiny bit thicker). Too thick = you'll get a bruise, too thin = you'll burn. I use the Gigi warmer that came with the student kit. When the can is full or 2/3 full, I warm it on high for 15 minutes. If it's half or less than half full, I heat it less (around 10 minutes). Which melts half of the wax and there is an unmelted lump of wax in the middle. The reason I do this is the top center always melts the latest and by then, the rest is too runny for my taste. Waiting everything to melt and turning the warmer off and waiting for a couple of minutes could also work, but I just don't have the patience. Depending on how long it takes you to wax, you might have to turn the warmer on/off a few times to keep the consistency. Exfoliate & Clean: Having your skin clean and dry is important. Lotions, water, sweat & oil etc prevents you from applying the wax evenly and even if you manage to apply, it doesn't really stick to your hair so it doesn't work. I also found that exfoliation beforehand helps a lot. It takes off the dead skin & exposes the hair better. Length of the hair: If you are a shaver, your hair gets thicker, so it becomes more noticeable. To get results from waxing, you might have to let go for a while (week / 2 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows) and try to live with it, so it gets long enough for the wax to actually pick it up. I had to shave a couple of times and in my case, my hair grows very slow so I had to wait 2 weeks after shaving. I generally wax every 3 - 4 weeks, because the hair in my legs are very thin and they aren't noticeable before week 5. Set-up: I've read a lot of reviews about wax being messy, and it is. With every soft wax that will be the case. What I do is to put a few paper towels/old newspapers between where I pick up the wax with the spatula/applicator and where I apply it, because sometimes accidents happen and it really is a hard task to remove it from surfaces. And I recommend using a collar with this wax. Test: The first thing I do with every new brand or type of wax is to test it in a small area. If you have sensitive skin or allergies I would definitely recommend doing this before anything else. A little bit of redness is normal, but stay away if it makes your skin itch, swell, bruise. I actually test the wax in a small area every time I wax to check the temperature and avoid burning myself. Powder (or don't): For the application, some people prefer lightly (key word being light) powder the area. I only use powder on my lips where I can control the amount of wax with my fingers. In my opinion, powder is only good with oily skin or on the areas you might be sweating. My skin is dry, so I don't really need powder on my legs. Also, overdoing the powder can make your job harder than it is, make it hard to apply the wax, create clumps and make the wax useless. Application: I usually get enough wax to lightly cover the tip (around 1 inch in length) of the applicator. I apply a thin and even layer of wax toward the direction of my hair. I cover a small area, & try to never to cover a larger area than my palm on one go. Applying the wax to a very large area is a huge mistake I've seen my friends do. Wax dries, by the time you get to it so it gets stuck on your body, but it doesn't stick to the strips and so you have a mess on your hands. The quality of the strips are also important. The strips I got with the kit really sucked, so I bought a roll of cloth strips. This way I can cut smaller pieces for my lip without wasting any material. Oh also, you have to pull the strips fast, and in the opposite direction of the hair growth. Pulling closer to your skin and pulling it really fast minimizes the pain. Pull your skin tight: In areas where your skin is soft and the surface isn't tight & flat (in my case soft and wobbly inner tighs), you have to pull the skin up and tighten the area before you pull the strips. Otherwise you might pull your skin with the strip, which is crazy painful and you'll definitely get a bruise. Trying to pull the strip slowly can also cause you to get a bruise. Get it off: I got a Wax-off with the student kit, but to be honest I only use it if my hands get sticky as I'm waxing. I like to use baby oil, which works way better than any cream that claims to remove wax from your body. I generally wait for an hour or two after I wax, get in the shower and use baby oil with warm water to take the remaining wax off.

I don’t write a lot of reviews but wanted to write about my experience since so many said the wax is sticky or burns. I have never, ever used a wax warmer or soft wax until I used this today. The key is to be prepared. I turned the wax warmer on high then I checked it every 20 mins until the wax was liquified and then I turned the warmer to low. Use a popsicle stick to test a little wax on the back of your wrist to make sure the wax is not too hot and you don’t burn yourself. I had my wax warmer on the nightstand, I put a dish towel around it to catch any wax drippings (I had none) then I laid an old towel on my bed and sat on the towel to catch any wax drippings (I had none). Work in small sections if you need to. Put the wax on, lay down your strip and rip it off. You don’t need to leave the wax there for minutes. As for the sticky part. I was disturbed that this stuff was ultra sticky almost like adhesive tape sticky BUT, if you are careful you’ll hardly get any anywhere except where you want it. When I was done I jumped right in the shower, toweled off and my legs were still sticky in areas. Wipe your legs down (and hands if you got it on your hands) with pure coconut oil and boom! Problem solved in seconds. I appreciate the fact that I won’t have to shave my legs every other day and no stubble. Take your time. You will love it!

I have bought this soft honey wax multiple times and I just love it. It’s easy to apply and easy to remove, skin feels softer afterwards. Delivery was on time and will buy again.

The wax heats evenly and removes hair effectively with minimal residue. As someone who works in the beauty industry, I found it easy to use. It can be a little messy while warming up, but the results are worth it.

Updated from 5 to 1 star! There seems to be a major inconsistency in the formula or something... everything was the same, except a new can of honee wax. One strip would work great, the next strip, the wax didn't adhere correctly and BRUISED THE CRAP out of my legs and wouldn't come off. This is one of two legs, the other looks just as bad... these aren't burns, they're bruises! Getting that wax off took like a gallon of jojoba oil...Throwing the rest of this tin away and never buying again. Original review: Used this for my legs and face. Love it. No issues that others have had. I do have a temperature-controlled warmer and maybe that makes all the difference? 175-185 on legs, 155 on face. Only issue I had was trying to apply before wax was totally warm, it didn't come off as well, but that was user error. Used strips with a silicone applicator and had great results. The wax that did drip on my floor cleaned right up with a mixture of dish soap and vinegar (homemade all purpose cleaner, 1/4 dish soap, 3/4 white vinegar - this seriously cleans everything from soap scum to grease on top of cabinets!) Then I used a scraper and it came right off the tile and sink. I use a homemade serum for after with jojoba, castor oil and vitamin E oil with essential oils and got all remaining residue off my legs. I did have my legs waxed 5 weeks ago, so not the "normal" post-shave coarse hair which may have made a difference, but overall super happy and just bought another jar as I went through almost an entire one doing my legs. Still cheaper than paying someone to do it!

I am a nail technician and beauty therapist and use Gigi wax for quite a while. I am very satisfied with this product. All purpose Honee is great for almost all parts of the body, I even use it for bikini and brazilian. Works flawlessly for those clients too that have just started waxing and shaved before. (therefore they have quite strong hair) It takes out the hair from the root (of course you need a good technique, but with this wax its very easy to work) I had no allergy issues so far. I would not recommend it for the face, its a little harsh there, but Gigi has got facial wax for that area! Imagine it, I like it so much that I order it from England for my salon because its not available in Greece! Highly recommended.
