Bottom line, this is #1 in aviation headsets. Why? I've tried them all, bose, lightspeed, cheap $60 headsets etc.....I'm flying in a gyrocopter (Cavalon 914 Turbo) and the ANR on this is mind blowingly amazing! I've also compared with the Bose A20 and this destroys it. You forget this headset is on, your ears don't ache, with the microphone in the open wind it doesn't even pick up and when I speak that's all you can hear. When I turn off the ANR everything gets loud, pull out one of the earbuds and it's uncomfortably loud. What I don't like about the traditional aviation headsets is they clamp over your head and yes they quiet things a little bit but you end up covered in sweat no matter how good the earpiece is, they can only block so much ambient noise passively but earbuds are like earplugs and will always block out more noise naturally. The other more expensive traditional headsets always sounded "tingy" or without bottom end...like a mid-range speaker without a housing. Voice comes through hurt fine... music, forget it...sounds like an old AM radio. Not the UFQ...you hear all you need to, atc, other passengers etc. I actually had to turn my ATC radio down once the ANR was turned on the UFQ because of how much it eliminated engine/ambient noise. This thing is amazing, if you don't like it you can always send it back, you've got nothing to lose. Plus you can buy three of these for the price of one of those other headsets. This will save your hearing, make it safer to fly when you need to hear radio calls with crystal clarity.

A good headset at a good price. I fly the 747 for a cargo airline. I have had these now for 6 months. The noise cancelling is good and the comfort of wearing these has been very good. I can’t think of anything I don’t like about them. Under $400 and do the same job that $1200 sets do.

Alright, I have given this headset a year and a half of daily use before reviewing this headset. Over 800 total flight hours in a VERY loud twin 8 cylinder plane. I absolutely love this headset for the price. I needed a true earbud headset that doesn't go over my head with ANR. I can't find anything else on the market this fits this bill. The Bose buds are still over head. (I'm bald and hated having pad indents on my dome that stayed the rest of the day after flights) I have an extremely small ear canal on my right ear from surgeries which have made earbuds useless as it would pinch the bud closed and mute the sound. And the factory buds after long use would make my ears hurt. That goes for any bud style headphones for me. To solve this problem I ordered a silicone ear plug kit for 10 bucks with this headset. I molded them as deep as I could and before the silicone set, I squished the buds in and formed it around the tip, and drilled out a hole. I now have custom molded buds that fit my ear perfectly. In addition it adds even more passive noise canceling. Turn on the ANR and boom its silent. The difference is literally night and day. I can still hear the engines enough to hear RPM changes and any anomalies. I love the volume adjustment for both left and right. (I have slight hearing loss in my right ear from the surgeries) so I can adjust each side to equalize. It's awesome. As for the ANR. Battery life is incredible. They have lasted months on a set of high capacity rechargeable AA's i haven't actually had them die. I just go "maybe I should charge them. It's been a long time" I can also tell the green LED indicator dims when they get low but it doesn't degrade the noise canceling at all. I haven't been able to compare them to Bose or Lightspeed. But I haven't needed to! They are plenty quiet in what's probably the loudest plane ever tested in. (It will literally damage your ears without protection) The "free" Bluetooth adapter is junk. And I figured it would be. So, I also ordered a high quality MPOW adapter at the same time. Things to note when playing music. The volume for left and right ear become a "fader." Full volume up fades the music to almost mute and makes ATC very loud. As you bring the volume levels down, the music gets louder and ATC gets quieter. Another thing to note is when any audio is being sent to the input jack ATC will quiet very noticeably so you'll have to turn the volume on the headset up quite a bit. (When im not using the audio port I keep the volume set in the detents at number 3. When music starts playing I have to push it up to 5 to get the same level from ATC.) This is just the way the internal wiring works. You just can't compare quality to ATC audio as its always scratchy radio. With a good quality amplified Bluetooth 5.0 adapter the music is AMAZING!! Deep bass and clear highs. Honestly better than any set of buds I've owned. Now for the one star dock. Occasionally in a few of the planes I've flown, there is an audible popping noise that sounds almost like an electric short its definitely internal to the headset tied to the mic plug side. It will pop every couple seconds and make my mic go hot. Co-pilots could only hear when the mic would go hot and just pick up ambient noise for a split second before the squelch would kick it back off. But over long flights it would get very annoying. I fly single pilot though and would just mute my mic on the instrument panel. I can still hear the pops but it won't make the mic go hot. Not sure if its a defective unit, but it only happens on specific tail numbers. It doesn't bother me enough to care anymore. Gently but deliberately adjust the neck wire/ear loops to fit your dome. I wear glasses over them and don't even notice they are there. Make sure the neck part is resting on your neck and the mic won't move around. Of course you have to make adjustments every once in a while but I don't get why other reviews complain about it so much. I haven't had to adjust it any more than an over ear set. If you want ANR buds, just buy these already. Oh and just so people know, these aren't approved for part 121 flying if I remember correctly. But who's gonna check? As for longevity, take care of them and clean them often, and they will take care of you. Absolutely no signs of fraying wires and still look new. *EDIT* A few years later and I still have the headset. But, I've had issues with wires fraying. I've reached out to the company to get a replacement and see if they would do anything outside of warranty. The did offer a slight discount on a new headset, but I'm very mechanically/electrically inclined. I decided to to attempt to rewire the headset myself before shelling the cash for a new one. I have successfully taken apart and re-soldered the wires two times now. The wires are like freaking strands of hair. Extremely difficult, but it saved me over $800. Thousands of hours of UV light and bodily oils definitely degrade the wires. Just glad I can fix these things myself.

By the time I was able to try this in an airplane it was too late to return them. They didn't work I can't hear no sounds from them. I could hear the his activation of noise reduction but that was it. no sound, the microphone worked as my friend could hear me but I could not hear him. I waisted my money. they looked good for the price. I though they were a bargain for the supposed features. I guess you get what you paid for.

I have had a Clarity Aloft (CA) headset for over 10 years and have loved it. While it still works much of the wiring protective covering is damaged from years of getting caught in seat tracks and normal use. I did not want to spend the money to replace it and read the reviews for the UFQ ANR2. For the price I decided to try this. I fly a Challenger 650 Aircraft. For the money this headset is ok and would probably be great for someone in training. I found the frame to be too difficult shape to my big head. I probably could have kept working at it but that would not resolve the biggest issue I had. Both the Clarity Aloft and the Faro use “Comply Canal Tips” to put in your ears. Those tips have a much smaller diameter hole for attachment to the ear buds but are also 50% longer and more secure once attached. This means that they fit much further into your ear canal more like a traditional ear plug blocking much of the outside noise. I could not find any replacement of that length to fit this headset. Therefore I felt that it was not as effective at blocking the outside noises. I found it difficult to get a good fit with what came with these headset and the bud itself was bulky and hurt over a days work. Once you turn on the ANR function you can immediately hear a quieting of outside noise. While this is nice, I found that I then had to listen to a constant background static hiss provided from the ANR system. While this is not loud, it is constant. In a quieter aircraft such as this, you are forced to listen to this at all times. With the CA headset, there are no batteries required and it is quiet due to the better ear buds and no ANR system is needed. The other issue I noted with this headset is with the Aux input. While I am not one to plug in and listen to music or need my phone connected for any reason in flight, I checked this function out to give a fair review. With anything plugged in to the AUX (the provided Bluetooth adaptor or a cable) the volume immediate decreased. Worse yet, with the AUX connected my SIC had a difficult time hearing me and ATC had the same issue. The only way resolve that was disconnect it. Perhaps this is avionics related, but not an issue I have with my CA. I used this headset for 15 days of flying and over 50 hours. I returned the headset and just today received the Faro In-Ear headset. While I have not used it yet I have already shaped it to fit and find it very similar in fit and function the CA headset I am used too. If I didn’t know any better, I probably would have been quite satisfied with this inferior headset. Ok, a month later of using the FARO in ear headset. I loved the feel and comfort much better. It was much easier to shape and fit to my head. However, I had to return it as well. I used it in Sim training and it was awesome, however in the Challenger 650 with a hot mic system, both ATC and my other crewmember could not hear/understand me unless I had the mic so close it was touching my lips (it will not stay in that position). FARO can say what they want about that being an internal VOX setting in the audio panel, I put on my old worn Clarity Aloft and they still work great. I guess I will just send them in to get the cord replaced (it got caught in the seat track and tore up the outer coating badly, my fault), or bite the bullet and buy a new pair. They will replace the cord for (I believe they said) $140 or they will give me $150 on trade for a new one. If the FARO would have worked on the hot mic system, I would have kept it. My advice to you who are looking. Buy the FARO, if it works with your aircraft you will love it, if it doesn't, return it and get the Clarity Aloft.

For in ear noise cancelling they are well designed and clear audio. Though these really should be used for non general aviation/ piston aircraft. When you go to full power the engine is to loud and you need to turn them up even higher to communicate. Would recommend for pro pilots or jet use. Also personal note, I am tall 6’ 4” and they don’t comfortably wrap around my head. Would need to be about 1/2-3/4 inch larger on the head band. Works great probably for people 6 ft and smaller

I bought this as a replacement for my ASA PNR headset I've been using as a student pilot. I was sick of having a clamping headset and as a relatively tall person I'd often hit the top of my headset against the ceiling of the plane. (PA-28-140) I had a choice between these and the clarity aloft, but I have smaller ear canals and didnt want to rely on solely PNR anymore, especially when sticking long foam tips into my ear canals. I was pleasantly surprised with how well the ANR works in this headset and how the fit is around the head and in the ears. The eartips come in 3 sizes, and come with both foam and silicone tips. Although, I do wish the "wing" on the earbuds also came in different sizes, akin to what you would see on the Samsung IconX or Galaxy Buds. It does help to keep the earbuds in place, but having the little silicone ring pushing against my ear for a while can be a bit annoying, but at least not painful. I use the small foam tips, they seem to work well. I'll probably be buying tips from comply once I've run the packaged ones down. As a side note: the tip/flange of the earbuds where the eartip sits is not circular, but rather oblong. So make sure to position the earbuds correctly or they could feel uncomfortable otherwise. It also makes find replacement tips a but more troublesome. As for audio clarity and noise reduction, I have no issues hearing radio transmissions or talking to the others in the plane, but I did have to turn the squelch up a bit as compared to my old headset. Maybe this mic isn't as sensitive, but with the adjustment it works well. The PNR only is alright, and will work without battery power. But the headset really shines with the ANR activated. It's easily twice as quiet as my old headset. I still hear just enough of the engine to be aware if something isn't going right, but even at full power it's amazing how quiet these really are. The ANR does act a bit odd when the windows are open as the pressure and sounds are different, and that's not at fault to them I don't believe. But it normalizes after a few moments and keeps doing well otherwise. The only minor complaint I may have is set up. Getting everything out of the case without ripping out the earbuds and positioning the mic to where it stays can be a challenge. I had to bend the ear frames a bit inwards to keep enough pressure on my head so the mic boom doesn't move around whenever I look a different direction. And there is a wire clip to clip onto a seatbelt or shirt to help keep slack on the wire and prevent your headset from getting yanked off your head. Not enough to mark down a star as it's a common characteristic in this design of headset, just something to keep in mind. Overall, I recommend this so far, but I would be careful to keep the cords from being yanked on. I'm not sure how durable the tiny cables going to the earbuds are going to end up being.

I'm a GA PA28 pilot and I've been using this headset for a year now nearly 100 hrs of flight time. My previous headset had over the earmuffs that did not have active noise reduction. My search criteria were a very lite headset with good ANR. I ended up debating between the Clarity Aloft and UFQ headset. I was pretty concerned about how a Chinese headset quality would be but at 1/3 the cost I could not justify the Clarity Aloft headset. I figured if this headset was a total dud I would try and return it and get the Clarity Aloft headset instead. I also assume CA headsets are probably manufactured in the same region as UFQ but I did not do anything to try and verify that. In my opinion, the good things about the headset: * Very lite * Takes up less space than traditional headsets in my flight bag * Noise-canceling works well * Comfortable on long flights Things I wish were different * I wish I could plug them into a USB charger so the AA batteries could just be backup (I have a pair of non-aviation active noise canceling Bose Headphones that do this and they are great) * I feel like the over the ear part could be improved so they held a little better * I wish the headphones came with a clip to hold the cable. I had to find one somewhere else * The case is a little too tight for the headset I am worried the cable will eventually short out because of the pressure from the case while stored * I wish the case had a specific place to keep extra AA batteries (it has a pocket so that works but I am always scared the batteries will short against something)

Das Headset funktioniert mit und ohne Batterien. Sind Batterien eingelegt und wird eine kleine Gummitaste gedrückt, dann leuchtet eine LED auf. Die Umgebungsgeräusche hören sich eingeschaltet genauso an wie ausgeschaltet. Beim Drücken der Sendetaste am Funkgerät gibt es einen Unterschied. Ist das Headset ausgeschaltet, so hört man einen schrillen Rückkopplungston nur leise. Ist das Headset eingeschaltet, so hört man diesen Ton halt laut. Die Gegenstelle hört den schrillen Ton in den meisten Fällen. Gelegentlich klappt die Verständigung sogar. Eine Nachfrage beim Hersteller mit Bitte um Hilfe wurde nie beantwortet. Mein Fazit: In die Tonne und nicht wieder kaufen!
