Well worth the money!
An amazing little piece of equipment! My son gifted me one, and I'm very pleased. It's light enough so my arthritic hands don't object to using it, but sturdy enough to make short work of smaller wood (6" or under); it's small enough to stow easily in a backpack, the blade holds an edge really well and the balance is excellent. My only complaint is the blade mask / sheath - the snap is very difficult to close, and gets in the way when you try to cover the blade.

My new edc hatchet!
I purchased both the Scax10 & Fiskars X7 hatchets based upon favorable reviews. Both could not be more different. The Scax10 felt balanced, comfortable to hold and seemed natural in my hand. The Fiskar felt larger, awkward and top heavy due to the straight, hollow handle. Despite great performance reviews, I returned the Fiskar. The Scax10 is on the smaller side, very light and therefore, extremely easy to control-great attributes for a superb bush craft tool. Itโs full tang construction and Rhino-lining finish means it would be durable under hard use. The 3โ blade came nearly razor sharp. This hatchet feels extremely good to hold/wield that it will be my new edc hatchet for every hike and camping trip from now on!

Solid camp ace
Sharp, blunt end is great for pounding stakes. Blade comes a little too sharp, I prefer a higher angle edge. Chips easy, but easy to sharpen. Itโs a bargain at this price for this utility and durability.

very happy
I read all the reviews and if you are aware that this is a small hatchet and not a large axe, you will he happy. I am very impressed with the balance, finish, and out of the box sharpness. For a price of mid 20's, I'm more than happy.

Handy chopping tool!
This is just the right size to keep in a pack. Full tang construction with an over molded handle. The weight is toward the head to aid chopping.

Smaller than you think
This axe is really small, you see the measurements on the description but till you get it and hold it, you don't realize just how small it is. That is not a bad thing for my use, it gets tucked into my backpack so it does not take a lot of room. For doing fire prep around the camp, it is perfect. I would not spend an afternoon processing wood but for camping trips, it is fine. I did sharpen it when I got it but it was sharp already, I just like my cutting tools to be crazy sharp.

Stainless Steel
Will not rust in the emergency bag, but the edge will roll if used to cross-cut hardwood and will need to be re-sharpened.
