New York Times bestselling author Alexandra Ivy returns to her bestselling and beloved Guardians of Eternity series. More powerful than ever, the Guardians of Eternity are facing their greatest challenge yet: a war within their ranks. Their future is in the hands of one rebel vampire, who must choose between loyalty and love . . . Blessed with an even more compelling allure than most vampires, Chiron has made a fortune in the human world, creating an empire of resorts and casinos. Since the betrayal and imprisonment of his master, he has existed outside the order of the Guardians, trusting no one. But now, the new vampire king has given him a peace offering: a scroll that could free his master. Following the relic’s magic leads him to a demon hotel deep in the Everglades, a lush paradise owned by a mysterious and mesmerizing woman . . . As far as Lilah knows, she’s lived her entire life within the confines of her enchanted estate. Memories of her own past are elusive and cloaked in shadows. Even Chiron can’t figure out exactly what she is, and if her intoxicating beauty is his destiny or an illusion drawing him ever closer to his demise—or perhaps to an even more tormenting choice, between his master and his mate . . . Review: Interesting twists and turns! - This book was really nice. I liked the way the story was laid out as it wasn't exactly the typical way the others had gone. I won't bore you with a plot summary as I know other reviewers are fond of doing that. The characters were really good. I'm a big fan of one of recurring characters in this book, especially. The setting is the kind I like, full of magic and the unknown, especially at the end with it all being open to what will probably happen in the next book. If you liked the previous books in the series, I say you should give this one a shot because I don't think you'll be disappointed. Have at it! I can't wait for the next one. Review: Better - This story was short and good. It moved along at a good pace. It was interesting and different. Each book in this series has had a good story line, but get caught up in page after page of detailed sex. A little really does go a long way. Some of the books the main characters argued constantly. Skimmed through most of the sex pages and the arguments.

so excited that the story expands.
Love that the storyline has expanded. The magical estate reminds me of this hidden nightclub in Jacksonville, Fla. The plantation style mansion that’s set back in the swamp but once you find it and go in it’s all party. So fun. Not sure if it’s even there anymore. Anyways, super excited for a new bad vamp that will end up good in the next book.

For the sake of vanity!
I can't tell you how happy it makes me that Alexandra is writing more Guardians Of Eternity books! Darkness Returns has Chiron searching for his master who was taken years ago by the previous Anasso. Styx has sent Levet to aid in the search, which thankfully gets him out of his hair. Chiron ends up at an enchanted hotel in the middle of the Florida everglades. The hotel is run by the very beautiful Lilah along with an overbearing ogres Inga. Chiron and Levet search for the key that is supposed to free Tarak but with all of the magic surrounding the hotel it's slow going not to mention Chiron's fascination with Lilah. Lilah agrees to help Chiron find Tarak but in doing so she puts her life in danger, she will have to risk her life to right the wrongs of a past she had forgotten.

Oh boy…
Bad, bad, bad Styx to send poor beloved Levet on a mission to right a wrong from Styx’s past and be totally joyful with Levet’s missing company for many weeks….oh I hope those mates get him into a lot of punishment for that! The newest book is fun with lots of mystery! It was fun to meet new main characters and see them become, mates and avoid death! Many thanks to the Master of Love, Monsieur Levet for knowing how to break the curse! The end of the book is a cliff hanger! The very first in this entire series! Bad mongrel Ogress who tricks Levet! I’m appalled and can’t wait to find out what happens to our favorite Knight in Shining Armor with a beautiful polished tail!

And the series is back
Lilah and Chiron are a interesting couple. Chiron is a new vampire for the series but I really liked his character. I am really interested in learning more about the Rebels, especially Tarak. Lilah was a mystery until the end. I liked her character and the romance between these two. The cliffhanger ending really caught me off guard and now I really want more.

Good, but incomplete
Yes, the Main Characters did get a (more or less) HEA. But it did kind of leave a reader hanging. Which isn't typical for this series...and in my opinion, wasn't nice. I really didn't enjoy this one as much as most in this series. The Heroine was lacking in depth. There wasn't much exposure of previous characters other than the Vampire King (briefly) and a small supporting part for my favorite character-- Levet. This one, I'm afraid, was barely an OK read for me. I will, however, continue the series.
