Paul Mitchell Detangler Comb, Wide Tooth Comb Detangles Wet or Dry Hair

This comb is big and sturdy. It's well made with no sharp corners of edges. It's ideal for very gently combing out hair just after shower when hair is most vulnerable to breakage, and then the hair air dries beautifully. This comb has become an essential hair care tool but it was especially nice to find this one in the color needed. It is not a solid opaque white but a slightly translucent frosted white. It's very well made and works nicely but also looks great in a white color scheme. Photo shows the black comb I had before and this new white one in comparison. The white one is thicker and sturdier. The printed logo is on just the one side of this white one. On the white sink top it is a bit difficult to see that it is a semi-translucent white but if you look closely at the handle where the logo is on the reverse side, you can kind of tell there. I had been experiencing hair loss which is why I originally switched from a brush to wide tooth combs (every time I tried brushing my hair so much snagged and fell out that it was like a little grief every time I brushed my hair) and though the issue of hair loss has been resolved, I will never again be without a well made wide tooth comb. The way it runs through hair, even after a shower, is amazing and tangle free. It doesn't snag or pull out those precious strands. This comb has not resolved frizz for me but it DOES reduce it. When I use it with one single drop of rosemary EO to scalp top after a shower and comb it through, the combo knocks the frizz back and helps my hair and scalp. On dry or wet hair, this comb is tops! It's not just for one type of hair, by any means. Whatever hair type, if you want to grow or care for medium to long beautiful locks, thick, thin, fine, straight, mature, wavy or curly, this comb will do so in a way that won't cause extra damage to your hair. It's no delicate thing. You can drop this comb, accidentally bang it on the table too hard, step on it.... It's very durable and will last a long time. Would stand up to a busy commercial hair styling environment. Super function and the frosted white color looks very nice.

I really like this detangling comb. It glides easily through my hair, wet or dry, without pulling or tugging. I chose the opaque version because I like the clean, simple look. One of my favorite things is how the thicker teeth feel against my scalp—it almost gives a gentle little scalp massage while I’m combing my hair. Simple, sturdy, and works really well.

I am 45 years old and have always used a pick when combing my hair after a shower. I’ve started getting a lot of breakage in my hair and it was recommended I start using this instead of a pick because it doesn’t have seams and won’t lift my hair up, which can increase breakage. I thought for sure I would hate it after being so used to my old tools. But I’ve been pleasantly surprised. It combs my wet hair nicely. It doesn’t feel sharp so it’s a nice feel on my scalp. It’s large and easy to hold. It’s thick and seems durable. I haven’t felt any pulls or tugs like I did with my pick but yet it still combs my hair nicely. So far so good and I’m hopeful this will help avoid some of my breakage!

Don't know the voodoo behind this comb, but all I can say is that it works. Immediate difference in how much hair I was seemingly shedding. Turns out I wasn't shedding, just not using the right comb. Major change. This is a must-buy. Who knew the comb you use could make such a difference? I have several wide-tooth combs that should theoretically be perfect for detangling without pulling out hairs. All this time, I thought my hair was shedding, but not at all; this comb instantly showed me that it's the other combs and detangling brushes that were the culprits.

Bigger than expected and heavy - well made. Works great on my super fine thin hair but I have to proceed very carefully with the weight of it because I am tender headed. Lol.

Love it, love it. This comb is a game changer especially on wet hair. It is durable with rounded teeth and does not hurt the scalp when used to part the hair. The size of the handle makes it easy to use and it does not bend when pulling through the hair. My hair is fine but I wear it curly so sometimes it tangles, but this comb deranges it so the hair does not come out. I recommend this comb to any one who may have problem with tangled hair.

I love this Paul Mitchell detangler comb. It is magical. I have long thin hair so it gets tangled easily every time I wash it. This comb slides through my hair like I have left the conditioner in…but I have not. I have fewer split ends and frayed hairs now that I use this. This is my second comb. Somehow I misplaced my first one on a recent weekend trip and ordered this replacement immediately on Amazon. Thank goodness it arrived fast. It is made of smooth plastic, milky white in color, and does not slice my hair. I just throw it in my drawer for washing my hair at home, and throw it in my overnight bag for easy portability on a flight. Love this comb! Highly recommend!!!

Absolutely Fantastic! One of my BEST BUYs EVER! I rarely review!! So easy on my hair (thus scalp), so easy to use and gets thru tangles so easily, even without a detangler product. And it makes quick work of it!

Where has this comb been all my life? I have very long thick hair. I love it and unlike all my friends I did not cut it all off at menopause. Real head-bangers never cut their hair. But long thick hair means knots and tangles. Since I was a child I get this huge knot at the nape of my neck. A real rats nest! I can remember my mon fighting with it and causing me much discomfort. I have used every type of conditioner and detangler product out there. Nothing really works. I have used a heavy duty afro pick for years and its was the only thing that could get through the gigantic knot. However I would lose a great deal of hair every time I washed it. Its has gotten so bad lately that I started to think about getting my hair cut short. Gasp! Started look around on Amazon for another solution. Found this comb that had lots of reviews from other long haired ladies (and maybe some men) that said how great it was. Brand name holds a lot of weight - all of Paul Mitchells products are great, albeit a little pricey, as was this comb. But let me tell you it is so worth it. This comb gets through the huge ball of matted hair much quicker and easier than anything I have used. Without so much hair loss. There is gong to be an adjustment period - the way you hold a pick and the way you hold a comb are totally different. Comb felt odd and awkward in my hand but I will get used to it. The comb is large, way larger than a standard comb and very sturdy. I have broken countless picks over the years. I am very confident I will not, cannot, break this comb. I highly recommend.
