Rio Beach Classic 5-Position Lay-Flat Folding Beach Chair

Good beach chair. I like that it doesn't sit so close to the sand. Easy transportation

After looking at multiple other chairs in stores (only to find them poorly made and more expensive), we took the leap and bought three of these. We were not disappointed. They are well-made, sturdy and highly functional. The ability to lie flat is also a plus. The only nit is the strap is not as high-quality as the rest of the chair, but they worked fine walking to and from the beach. I would definitely recommend these.

I bought this chair for an extended vacation to Morro Bay, California where I went to the beach 4-5X a week for a month. This is a light chair with a decent carrying strap which was useful as I walked at least a few hundred meters from where I parked to where I set up on the beach each trip. Very easy to carry over a shoulder. Unfolding and folding were a breeze, which is saying a lot given that for whatever reason I always have a hard with folding chairs especially where there is some gimmick like a tab or button to press or some complicated series of maneuvers to get it to release and fold. This is simple - grab and fold it like a book. I'm around 200 lbs (closer to 210 by the end of the trip) and I found it quite comfortable to sit in for hours at a time. It has arm rests and a cup holder on the right side. Overall I'm quite satisfied with this chair and I suspect that it can withstand many more trips to the beach, river, lake, backyard, etc without a problem.

Durability = Not Good !, from May 3 2024 until October 19 2024This is why I delay my review until one summers use . It did look nice though however it doesn't preform !OctoberUpdate October 21 2024 A business that honors their warranty , Fast . This represents a good company I will post a picture when I receive the replacement Beach chair.October 27 2024 picked up my warranty Beach chair (the most I have ever paid for a small Beach chair) they said they could not give me the same color I originally ordered. Hmm ,Hopefully it will last more than 4.5 months.PS : I never took it to the beach ! Just used it following the shade in the back yard.

Rio beach chairs are the best. I’ve owned three of these, I replace mine about every 8 years. The quality last if they are stored correctly.

This is my second time buying this chair (my first one was in great condition but after three years of use, the cup holder came off with no way to reattach, and its one of my favorite features). Very comfortable, a wider seat (those of us with hips are thankful for that). The arm strap makes it easy to carry and I love how adjustable it us (you can lay entirely flat if you wanted to). My only wish is that it has a headrest but other than that, it's my favorite beach chair!

Love this for the versatility and ease of use. Cheers well-made lightweight use it sitting up or laying down very happy with the quality.

Don't bother spending too much time looking at the "actual" product picture before you purchase because the chair you get may not be manufactured the same way as the photo. The chair I got does not have the curve on the top bar so if you recline with your head back it lays directly in line with the bar at the top of the chair. Incredibly stupid design. Uncomfortable chair. Look elsewhere before wasting money on this one. It may work out if you are under 4'6".Update after using the chair a few times. It is even worse than I thought. as other reviewers have noted, the plastic notches made for the "5 positions" are made of cheap plastic. First time I tried to recline and the back just collapsed. I weigh less than 200 lbs so weight should not be an issue. This is is cheap plastic and a shoddy design. The soft plastic just gave way as soon I reclined. See photo and you can see the broken plastic.I made a final try to get get comfortable by laying flat. Guess what! If you put the chair all the way flat using the support bar on the back, the bar at the bottom of the chair is higher than the seat or back making it impossible to lie flat.Just an awful product. Deserves zero stars.
