I bought these for my new Ruger American Rifle in .270 Winchester (long-action) and a Redfield Revolution 3-9X40 scope. They don't have the unique inserts that the Burris Signature series has, but they seem quite solid and simple with good machining and fit. As the Revolution scope I bought does not have a really long mounting length, I had to turn around the Ruger-supplied front mounting base so the scope would fit well. Use good hollow-ground screw bits/drivers, not a wood screw driver for tightening the rings on the base. I see that some shooters replace the slotted screw bolts with after-market allen screw bolts, but I have stayed with the originals. So far they are holding well on this stiff kicking light rifle, allowing for good groups.

I thought they might be too tall, but actually are perfect. The mounts on the Mossberg Patriot are really low, and I got a scope with a large objective, so these are exactly what I needed. Nice finish, solid steel, very strong without being bulky. Blend in well.

Easy to install. Torque up nice and tight. I wouldn't recommend using the included torx allen wrench, you wont have any way to verify torque. The torx Allen wrench will work fine for removal. Get a wheeler fat wrench and do it right. Quality steel mounts and screws. I like the matte black finish. Easy to slide rings over the rail and know they aren't coming off, unless you unbolt them and slide them off. A small drop of blue loctite on each screw and you should be good for as long as desired. I like the design of the bases flexing against the rail as tightened, instead of a separate removable piece. To me, it's one less part to be dropped during install. I also feel the design helps keep the bases aligned better.
