I used it to put siding up on the front post of my house. It is such a simple, inexpensive solution to the alignment and spacing of the lap siding. It is a perfect tool. I frequently checked the level on my work just to make sure I hadn't screwed up the use of the tool. Hand measurements never would have worked on this project. Buy it!

I purchased this to make it easier to install vertical lap 9.25" cement fiber siding. It is intuitive and simple to use and provides you a consistent measurement. This works best when used with the FCG2 1.25" overlap gauge and holder. This gauge can be held in one hand while nailing. The gauge block will hold the board in the correct place as you use your air nailer. Be sure to take measurements so you know exactly how much exposure you wind up with. My gauge created an exposure of 8 1/16". I would purchase this product again.

When I was siding my house with Hardiplank fiber cement siding I purchased a couple tools to make the job easier, as I was mostly a 1 man crew, and this was one of them. While a relatively simple tool I was able to hang siding with accuracy and precision without having to worry what it would look like from the ground. It definitely made the job a whole lot easier.

Plastic is very weak. Has very limited guaging positions, that are not accurate with other products i.e. Gecko. Inferior to Smart Side spacer. Save your money.

I bought two of these, making it very efficient to accurately install cedar lap siding. The simple design has saved me a lot of time and trouble. Well worth it.

Bought two of these. Our siding was getting out of level and we discovered that they did not have the same length. We were using 7 inches and after discovering the problem I was able to shave a little off one of them with my table saw and worked fine after that.

I put cement siding on a playhouse for my daughter using these. I did the project alone and do not think I could have done it without this tool. It made it so much easier to get the width correct without having to measure each time or draw lines.

I am a siding contractor. Been installing Hardie plank since 2009 . I wish I had buy these before. They will work great in long walls. As you install your clams(ghecco) about 12 to 16 inch from the end of your plank. I suggest you nail both end first then push up with one of these in the middle of the plank as they tend to wave at this spot.The grip is perfect you can hold the plank and this gauge in the same time making it easy to secure this one at the proper high. This work great for the small pieces in between windows and corners where the traditional clams just take too much time and are not effective at this matter.

Need it to install hardey board
