Rome RM2308 Brass Sundial "Grow Old With Me"

I bought this sundial asa wedding gift for my 77 year old brother and his bride. It seemed the perfect gift! It is heavy (but not too heavy) and practical at the same time. The saying “Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be is charming and romantic, and the Cladagh hands holding one heart (Irish) add to the sentiment. In addition, the price was right! There were others (I bought another for almost twice the price , but once I read the review regarding quality and size, I sent it back.). I am very happy with this purchase, and the bride and groom loved it!

The sundial is beautiful. It is made with the care and attention I haven't seen in products in a long time - sturdy metal, nice gnomen, beautiful coloring. We added it to a bird bath plinth we already had and my husband had to fabricate something to hold it steady (it does have a small metal knob to add it to a metal post; he made a wooden circle the diameter of the sundial, then cut a hole in the middle for the knob. Worked like a charm). I'd buy it again. Very beautiful, lovely, and yes, accurate.

Received at the end of February as an anniversary gift to my wife. Opened a week ago and really like the style and engraving but found that one of the screws to attach the pointer (gnomon) was missing. Not a big deal but contacted the company to get the size & thread so I could go buy one. They responded in less than a day and shipped me a replacement immediately, just received and couldn't be happier with my purchase, thank you!

Lovely size and quality was superb!! I was a bit surprised when it arrived and with the stand went together quick and easy! Great value and it looks great in the garden

I purchased this sundial to give to my husband on our first anniversary since clocks are one of the gifts to give on this occasion, but I thought a sundial was more appropriate. He liked it; I liked it. He is going to make a cedar pillar for it. It was as described on the website and it was delivered promptly even though we live in the sticks and some delivery services have trouble finding us. Only criticism I have is it is somewhat smaller than I visualized. The dimensions were probably there but I failed to read them. Overall, good buy and I think it makes a great anniversary gift.

Wanted larger but otherwise good looking. Perfectly flat on bottom. Easy to drill holes to mount w screws.

Loved this purchase, a truly unique anniversary gift. The dial arrived quickly and well packaged, it was easy to assemble and functions beautifully. It is a smaller dial, about the size of a kitchen clock face, but it's details and coloring are lovely. One notation I was surprised by, or rather should have noticed upon photo presentation, because of the poetry at center bottom of the dial, accuracy of time is off and the number VI is repeated both right and left of the poem. However, it is easy to estimate time as the claddagh is center at 6:00. Dial can be placed flat in ground if a pedastile is not desired, it looks nice with a less bulky pedastile, looks nice in home and outside. Very pleased with purchase.

I wasted money on this. It might be worth $15.00 in my opinion. The gnomon appears to be solid brass, however the sun dial itself is brass plated aluminum. See attached pictures. I have had it a year and it is already deteriorating. The picture of the front shows where the brass chipped and the aluminum oxidized. I scraped the back to expose the aluminum.
