does this really need extension for granite counter install?

Be careful when installing and test it before final install. I had the plumber angle the spout a bit and now the water hits the back wall of the sink. My previous Insinerator was mounted facing 6pm instead of 4-5pm. The new faucet has a tapered spout whereas my previous one had more of a cylinder-shaped spout.

Is this unit BPA free?

This would be a question that should be directed to the manufacturer.

When I dispense cold water, hot water leaks out of the faucet vent warming the cold water, even with a new tank unplugged. How do I fix this?

Hi, please make sure that the hot water dispenser is connected to your incoming cold water supply line. If it is, and the water on the hot side is mixing with the cold water, your faucet may need to be replaced. This model has a 3-year warranty. To confirm if you're eligible for warranty, you may contact us at insinkeratorfeedback@emerson.com with the serial number of your faucet, or you can give us a call at 1-800-558-5700.
