PAS20 Pond & Lake Aeration System for Up to 3 Acre, 3/4 HP Compressor + Two 100' Weighted Tubing + 2 Diffusers

I bought this pump and accessories after researching my best options for the price. I have a small 1/4 acre pond and want some air diffusers for both ends. I purchased this about in February 2020 sometime. I bought a housing to go with it so it was protected from the elements and had electric already out so I was able to plug easily into a timer. Easy to setup, was about 50 yards from the house and never heard it run. Worked great up to a few weeks ago. My house is on the Myakka River in Venice Fl and up to Hurricane Etta (Fall 2020), even though the property flooded it was nothing like the amount of water Etta brought us. To make a long story short, the water ended up being high enough to enter the pump housing ( and the housing was raised, not resting on the ground). I waded thru the water and managed to unplug the pump. Once the water went down, I plugged it in again but found the pump was buzzing and not pushing any air. I contacted the manufacturer in China who responded within 24 hours mostly due to the difference in time. I told them what happened and asked if I could ship it off to have fixed. It wasn't their fault and I was happy to pay for the repair if reasonable. I was informed it could not be repaired but they would be happy to replace it (a new model by the way) at an extremely fair price including shipping from China. I took advantage of the price and their service and within about a week I have my new pump and it is working great. They also sent me 2 new 100 ft airline hoses at no additional cost to me which I did not need and am trying to return. In my opinion, great product and great customer service. The pump is easily well built and I have no doubt will last a long time. The airline hoses are thick rather than flimsy and the diffusers themselves heavy and well built too. It's obvious the company stands behind their product and I would definitely purchase this again if I had too.

Don't waste your money buying a $2-3k aeration system for your pond. The HQUA system has been an excellent product to aerate two separate neighborhood ponds. They are extremely responsive in answering any questions and providing support (shout out to Irene!). Installation was very easy and the system's noise level is very quiet. We had a fishing hook puncture one of the hoses (which is very rare) and HQUA sent us a new hose within 3-business days. Great product to keep your pond in great shape and reduce costs of using algaecides.

The PAS20 Pond Pump works great and helps keep the fish active and plays an important role helping to control algae. I set up a 90-minute ON/30-minutes OFF automatic cycle on a timer (bought separately). Customer service is Excellent! These are my recommendations (and I will follow-up with my pump rebuild experience): 1. If you like the pump performance, I recommend buying a Pump Rebuild kit (for your pump model year) in advance, so you won't forget. 2. If you plan to rebuild the pump, I recommend taking several photos of the pump before & during the rebuild process so you remember how to re-assemble the pump. 3. If you plan to rebuild the pump (~$50 rebuild vs ~$600 pump), I recommend buying spare screws ($10 for 25 screws M6-1.0x14mm FLAT Head screws). 4. I recommend red loctite to imitate the manufacturers decision ensure the piston stays tight when it gets hot. 5. Removing the 12 screws is easy, but you may need a socket wrench for leverage instead of a tiny allen wrench. 6. The piston screw removal (1 screw per piston) was the most difficult task, and I found a quick solution. The two (2) Flat Head piston screws are installed with permanent red loctite, so I simply used a #2 screw extractor (drilling a hole into the socket, and using an extractor to remove the screw), which is a predictable process for me. (I had unsuccessfully tried a propane torch to soften the red loctite, so I will use to use screw extractors in the future). 7. The piston seal installation was tricky. The seal fits between two pieces of the piston head, and fits tightly within the piston ring (the seal tends to twist out of position). I decided to place the piston in the highest position, fit the ring, then rest the seal & piston cap on the top of the piston-ring. Then I used the screw (adding red loctite) to uniformly press the seal into the piston. This is my rebuild story to help you: As advertised, I followed their instructions exactly (including an automatic on-off timer to prevent overheating), and the pump worked maintenance-free for more than 2 years. After about 27 months, the pump became significantly louder but the pump was making bubbles (in hindsight, this louder noise was evidence of the seals degrading, and the pumping power was significantly diminished). I recommend preparing the Pump-Rebuild process quickly after the pump gets louder (AFTER 2 years). I bought the PAS20 rebuild kit in advance (and make sure you get the kit compatible with your pump model year). Eventually, our pump stopped making bubbles, so I successfully rebuilt the pump. After trial & error, I developed the recommendations above (I had to buy screws in the middle of the rebuild process). In the future, I think I could rebuild the pump within about 3 hours (I consider myself to have average DIY skills).

I didn't do enough research before and bought one the was larger then I needed but I am only running it two runs in 24 hours at only 15 minutes each and the water cleared in the first 24 hours. I was worried about my fish so started only 15 minutes in 24 hours the first couple of days and then went to 2 runs in 24 hours which seems to be working fine. The pond is only 1/2 acre and 6 feet deep. The fish seem to be happy and have seen no fish kill and water is looking great so will probably stay at this program. From what I know now I could have used a much smaller system.

We have been running this for the past few months and have no complaints. Even though we had surface aerators running before these, I ramped up the use of these very slowly over the course of a month or so. We spend good money stocking trout, and I didn't want anything to put them in danger. (do some reading about people who killed off all their fish by running these 24hrs a day from day 1) The weighted hose doesn't go as far as you think it will, so it's not a bad idea to pick up an extra roll and some hose splicers. People do mention that they need to do a small pump rebuild every year or two. The seal kit is cheap, and it seems like it's pretty easy to replace them. I'll be picking up 1 or 2 more of these for our smaller lakes.

Outstanding Performance, we chose to buy this pump due to the manufacturers notes on the quality they built into their product. The two diffusers have amazing output boiling up the water from about eight feet below. We used solid core copper ground wire to attach diffusers to cinder blocks, then floated them into place with a plastic storage container then swam them down to place them where we wanted. We had a problem with filamentous moss which was totally killed by the increased oxygen within three months. Our pond is about 1.5 surface acres with average depth of eight feet.

Have been running this in my farm pond for almost a year 7/24! It just keeps plugging along. For the price compared to some more expensive units, I’m very pleased so far. It has made a noticeable improvement of the water quality and the fish look healthy and very active! I do wish I could buy more of the hose that came with this as the stuff I purchased to extend the aerators has been nothing but problems!

Needed a diffuser for my pond. 360,000 gallons. 4ft to 6ft deep. Problem with manual. Conflicting instructions. First it tells you to follow a startup proceedure. To prevent fish kill. All good info... 30min first day, 1 hr second day, 2 hrs 3rd day, etc. Doubling time run till 24/7. So far so good. However in the paragraph furthor down the page ... in red letters it tell you to only run 2 hr intervals, then let it rest 30min??? Sooo. According to instruction... you run it 24/7... turning it off every 2 hrs for 30 min rest??? Ridiculous. If the engine can't be run cont. I need a different manufacturer! Finally, the timer they send with it is bizarre. To say the least. No black and red tabs... instead just one button at top that when pressed pokes into the timer but when released, it goes back into the frame.????? No good support. No contact number in manual. Found one on Amazon finally but when called just a broken english recording to email tech support! So far no response. I am thinking of returning it. Don't waste your money. Oh... and there is one called fervor that is a couple hundred dollars cheaper.
