Seems like a great product. It didn't fit my RV hot water as I have a cap not a plug.

Worth the sacrifice
Replaced the drain plug on a dometic water heater with this, no issues. Hopefully this dies to give life to my water heater.....

Cheap protection.
Magnesium protection for aluminum water heater. Mine last about 9 months full time. I know it's time to replace when temperature recovery slows. 7/8" socket, 6 inch extension and a 24 inch breaker bar make easy replacement. Be sure to power flush the magnesium hydroxide/carbonate gel from the heater. There will be a lot of it in the heater, this takes space, reducing the capacity. It breaks down easier than calcium deposits which it prevents. Another ounce of prevention item. Worth every penny.

It does what is supposed do very well.
I have an Atwood 6 gal LP hot water heater. The tank is aluminum and originally Atwood only installed a drain tap rather than an anode. As an industrial maintenance tech I thought installing an anode would be an good measure to increase the life of the hot water heater tank. The anode is doing the job well. The sacrificial metal is doing what is should do. As I drained the hot water tank for winterization Nov 2018, I got a first hand look at the condition of the rod that was installed Feb, 2018. It's doing what it is designed to do, sacrifice itself to protect the tank.

Perfect Fit for my Dometik Propane/Electric RV Water Heater
The Dometic Propane/Electric Water Heater in my Keystone Passport came with a plastic drain plug; no anode. Hoping this will help extend the lifetime of my unit Easy install with a little Teflon tape to seal and a wrench.

Let me explain the stars!
Their is nothing wrong with the product itself. Depending on your installation, you will need to ether remove the gas line or file away some magnesium to get the rod to find its way in the hole. With my setup, It took me 20 min of filling and trying until I got it to fit. I've become a magnesium sculptor. 2 stars for "Easy to install" because of the fitting issues. 4 stars for value (because needed to shave of 25% of it to get it to fit.) 5 start for "Easy to use" because once it fits, the size and thread are perfect, just use a bit of Teflon tape. So it you have a straight path to the hole ...... you will give this thing 5 start all the way.

Good purchase
Had it delivered to our campsite, so longer delivery time. However, came when expected. Easy to install. Perfect size for a 6 gal Atwood hot water heater. Working good. Very hot water.
