How do you clean this? Is it like other microfiber where it can be spot cleaned with gentle soap and water without discoloration?

I've never had to clean this particular piece of fabric but I have other similar fabric that I do spot clean. My suggestion would be to scotch guard it so it doesn't get dirty.

Does qty mean how many yards it is?

Sort of.. a yard is 36 inches and 1 qty is 60 inches. So with 1 qty youre getting a 1.5 yards. Hope this helps!

Does it peel/shred like other synthetic materials?

So far mine has not. Have had it almost 1 year.
