We recently purchased a new king-sized mattress and I wanted to get a new mattress pad right away since our old one was ages old. After doing a lot of research I decided on this one and it is great for these reasons: - it is soft, doesn't slide around and is quiet - the elastic and generous side fabric fits perfectly over an extra large down topper I have on top of the mattress - it is waterproof for general leaks (I haven't tried to pour water on it but I have a baby who started to have an accident that I caught in time and after removing the pad to wash I saw that it didn't go through to the mattress and the stain washed right out hot water). - there is not an odor or "plastic" smell right out of the package like with most of these items so I put it straight on the bed upon opening. What you need to know is that this is not one of those padded toppers that will add any cushion. That is why I bought a separate topper for that reason. I would buy this again for another guest bed.

This is well made and the queen size fits perfectly on my 4 inch mattress topper that sits on my mattress which has it's own mattress cover. The two together make the mattress height 20 inches. The waterproof material does not feel or sound like plastic when sleeping on it. I ordered a 2nd one twin size for a sleep number mattress. It also fit perfectly. Highly recommend!

Like the quality

This mattress cover does not feel or look like it would be waterproof, but it is. It is soft -- like lying on cotton sheets. We use it under cotton sheets to ensure the mattress stays dry from perspiration or the occasional urinary incompetence that can come from anesthesia recovery. The mattress cover fits so well in fact, I keep forgetting whether it is zipped in place or just held by elastic. I don't know how many times I've checked when making the bed. This is as comfortable as the sheets, with none of the feel of lying on a rubber shield like one can feel in a hospital. The Twin XL size fits the mattress perfectly. Every few times I change the sheets, I toss this in the laundry, too and it comes out looking like new.

I was born with heart problems, and I have high blood pressure because of this. I sweat a lot when I sleep. Ruined my last mattress because of this. I know it's gross, but nothing I can do about it. This cover works awesome! I still sweat when I sleep, but I bought this when I replaced my mattress 9 months ago, and it has kept my mattress like new. No smell, no stains, no dampness at all on the mattress. Amazing! I haven't tried any of the more expensive brands, but I see no need too. It does what it says. The topside is soft, but the side that touches the mattress feels kinda like plastic or rubber. It makes absolutely no noise when I move, and I can't even tell I have it on. Don't waste your money on the others. This is perfect if you're looking for something to protect your mattress.

I originally had a vinyl pocket mattress cover for my daughters' bed. Hated it. It was loud and the zipper ripped and it tore all around the seams. But it was waterproof and it did wipe clean. But because it encompassed the whole mattress it caused it to slide over the box spring very easily. I searched for a fitted mattress protector and this is the one I landed on. The price was great and the product had good reviews. Within two weeks after switching our old protector with this one my one daughter had an accident and then caught the flu and had thrown up in bed. It is indeed waterproof, although it feels like cloth, and washes easily! It is also quiet! I was so impressed with this product that I bought two more for the other beds in my house. Couldn't be happier!

This is a nice quality waterproof mattress protector. I am using it as an alternative to those vinyl zip-on mattress covers, the ones with a strong odor that are almost like shower curtain liner material. Those other zip-on styles work well to protect, but can be very difficult to pull over the a large mattress like a pillow case, and when I have used those other types, I pretty much put them on once and leave them there, and do not launder them. Those other types always require, in my opinion, an additional padded type of cover on top of those, because of the noise, the smell, the heat produced and just because I find them uncomfortable without added padding. Now to this Guardmax protector: it is a lot easier to put this on-it fits over the mattress like a sheet does, the pockets are nice and deep and it is soft, doesn't make rustling sound when it moves and it doesn't have the harsh smell the other kind of vinyl cover does. Although I personally still choose to put a padded cover on top of this product; this Guardmax definitely could be used on its own. It is a soft, fabric-like, quality material that does not have a strong vinyl odor. It is a good quality product and I recommend it. I now have purchased 3 of them to protect 3 different mattresses over the past 4 years. A full size and 2 queens.
