They work great! My siding was up to 16ft long and it held them up perfectly.

Great for lp siding and other siding, get your bottom one started and straight. And use this and keep a check.

Very valuable and a huge time saver. A must for one-man application. Holds any length in position while you make final adjustments and nail it fast. I pinned both ends and the middle of long boards, so that on the next course the Gecko gage would easily slide under that board. Then after pinning the next course I would go back and nail the previous course every 16 inches. Then repeat the process as I worked up. This way I never had any problem sliding the Gecko gage under the underling course of siding. Adjusts in 1/4 inch increments down to 4 inches to the weather but by inserting a spacer in the slot holding the siding you can go to spacing below 4 inches which was necessary for me in some places to match existing siding on an old house. Easily handles 18 footers. A great tool. I learned about these gages from a YouTube video. It would be good for the manufacturer to have a video on the web page where it is sold so first time users like me understood how to use it.

I Purchased this product after years of making my own site made clips for siding. I would recommend these for anyone working alone hanging longer sections of lap siding. I recently used them to hang 3/8x8x16' LP SmartSide textured lap siding and they were very helpful and were capable of holding the weight of the lap siding. The levers are a cam which applies pressure to the lap siding material to friction fit in place holding the loose piece above. It took a few pieces to get used to how far to tighten the level/cam, too far and the tool would rock away from the wall, too little and it would not hold. Once you have a feel for the level/cam they work very well. I read others reviews prior to purchasing and I did not experience issues with micro adjustments as noted in the other reviews. I was able to install at a desired lap of 1-1/8" easily and consistently. The tool held up from a durability standpoint and several drops from 12'-16' onto rock, grass, concrete, etc. I would note the provided acorn cap nut on the lap size adjustment bolt came off multiple times during the first project. I ended up swapping the acorn cap nut for a nylon lock nut and it fixed the issue. I would recommend doing this. The only other suggestion I would have is potentially swapping the direction of the lever/cam to point down when engaged. When handing 16' material by myself I inadvertently hit the lever/cam downward several times which causes the tool to drop to the ground. Overall I would recommend this tool to others. I would give a 5 star review if they came with nylon lock nuts in lieu of acorn cap nuts.

This tool made the project much easier and also faster.

Absolute must have product for lap siding installation. It enabled me to work solo, but I imagine it is also useful to increase efficiency when working as a team.

These things were an absolute life saver. I sided my entire house with them. It would have been insanely difficult without them, i.e., I would’ve needed another set of hands because 12 ft cement fiber boards are friggin heavy. They’re also excellent for taking quick measurements for tricky cuts, e.g., take a small piece of siding and put it on a gauge next to whatever it is that needs a non-uniform. They’re really easy to use. They have a bunch of different settings for different reveals. They don’t scratch the siding. I even used them to help hold up the trim under the eves. Highly recommend!
