It came well lubricated and covered in a material to keep it sharp. You have to peel that off first like any good bit. It was very sharp. More sharp than the one I purchased a while back on Aliexpress. I didn't see anything to complain about or drop a star for. It didn't dull at all but this was after two surfaces.
