XT269T 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 2-Pc. Combo Kit (5.0Ah)

This drill/impact driver kit showed me how tools SHOULD function. The impact driver is my most used and indispensable tool I own and it is POWERFUL. I’ve used it with a spade bit to cut holes in studs to run plumbing/electric and it could break your wrist if you’re not careful - it’s a beast. A monster. A demon. It must be respected. I have rebuilt an entire home with these tools, started doing paid contracting work, custom furniture building, you name it - and they haven’t shown one sign of slowing down regardless of the abuse, drops and falls, or using them for a job that calls for a more “powerful” tool like a rotary hammer or mixing drill. I did find the drill’s limit when mixing a 5 gallon bucket of some thick Venetian plaster, but the drill shut itself off at the right time to avoid any damage, flashing its LED to let me know it needed a break. The big thing with this kit is the BATTERIES! The 5amp batteries for the price are what made me go with this kit initially over the comparable black and yellow brand. It’s almost like you’re getting the most pro quality tools for free when you consider how much these batteries cost on their own. On these tools the 5amp batteries could get you through a week’s worth of heavy daily use. They’ve also never let me down when using them in other more power hungry tools like saws and my angle grinder. After 2 years of heavy daily use I do not notice any loss in battery life. Whether these are your first power tools or you’re upgrading from something more entry level, these are worth every penny and much much more. They are built to LAST and you will never outgrow these as your skills and projects advance. I would also highly recommend going with these over the cheaper non-brushless Makitas if you’re debating between them - The difference is massive. My mom has the non-brushless kit and they feel like children’s toys in comparison to these and the batteries are not compatible with the broader range of Makita tools. Once you have these and the 5amp batteries it makes the rest of the Makita line quite affordable when buying “tool-only” since these batteries can handle anything you throw at it.

Absolutely love this set. Works well for all my home owner and work needs. Long battery life and a quality product. I have been using Makita products for many years, still my favorite.

This is the fourth set of Makita drill - drivers that I have purchased. Great tools. This order is the 5.0Ah batteries. Opened the box and the batteries needed to be charged. One battery charged right up but the second battery started beeping about 10 minutes later and then blinked the red - green lights over and over. I got onto Amazon chat with Zene and got the issue resolved. They couldn't send out the new battery but gave me credit and I will purchase the same one. A little bit of a nuisance but life is long and the one battery works but I have 4 others and some Dewalts so my crew will not have to use a screwdriver. Thanks Zene.

Makita makes a reliable product. We stick to this brand and keep a stock of batteries that can work on all our battery operated tools. Having a charging station with one brand battery makes it easier in the workshop.

This drill motor is great, but the chuck is garbage. The jaws are too smooth and wont grip a drill bit and that's a total frustration. I replaced the chuck with a after market chuck and my hope that it's better. The impact driver doesn't have a force adjustment and it brakes off screws. It would be fine for larger bolts of 1/4" or larger, but don't depend on it for smaller screws because it will either strip them out or snap them off. It's too bad that the screw driver doesn't have a force adjustment, that would make much more usable. The batteries seem to hold up better than some of my other cordless tools, but it's a little too early to make a conclusive judgement. The bag, that is included, is impossible to keep bits and attachments organized so I purchased the Maketa plastic case. I Velcrowed striped inside the case to hold my drill index and an assortment of other things inside and that works well to keep them in place. So far, the drill is performing well, other than a poorly mad chuck the came with it.

Bought the Makita combo set from Amazon SINGAPORE, thinking (naturally) that the charger (DC18RC) can be used in Singapore. Unfortunately, the charger runs on 110v and a "Pop" sound was heard followed by smoke emitted from the unit when plugged into the power socket. Had to purchase a new Makita charger designed for Singapore's higher voltage (230v) in order to use the power tools. Seller should have included charger meant for the Singapore's higher voltage if it is selling electrical products on Amazon Singapore otherwise its totally irresponsible.

Would like to request for replacement of charger
