Noctua NF-A8 PWM, High-Performance Quiet Fan 80mm

These Noctua NF-A8 PWM fans were a great upgrade for my server, replacing some louder, less effective small fans that came with the build. Noise level dropped significantly, these run much quieter even at higher speeds. Cooling performance improved noticeably too, better airflow and lower temps than the fans they replaced. Classic Noctua quality, definitely worth the price if you want quiet, effective cooling for a small form factor build.

Amazingly effective, super quiet. Replaced the stock Intel cooler with this on a 10900k and it went from 40C at idle to 26C. It's also MUCH quieter despite this larger fan and two additional case fans from Noctua.

I purchased a Rack Choice 2U 12-bay server chassis for a recent UNRAID build. The 4 fans that came with the case were extremely loud when I actually got them running. I ordered 4 of these Noctua NF-A8 fans to replace them. Once I installed them, all 4 worked very well and were so quiet I couldn't tell that they were even on. I highly recommend these not only for server builds but for everyday systems as well.

After buying a cheaper fan and having it fail within a year, AI recommended this one. It was right. Excellent product, great accessories, high quality, fast delivery (I realize that is more Amazon than the manufacturer). Impressed with the design, quietness, quality, and the documentation included. 6-year warranty blows the cheaper options away. Temperature sensors indicate it is meeping my Ryzen 2700X cool, attached to the Deep Cool heat sink that came with the PC.

I replaced a dell optiplex MT i3 cpu fan, which rated much higher than the noctua. I thoughy I'd sacrifice flow for quietness. However, it immediately dropped a coulple degress at idle, and prime95 stress tests stablized around 78C after running for hours. At full speed, it's much louder than at idle, but the noise is low pichted and much tolerable than whining nosie. Although the Noctua fan is quiet, cpu fan is not the only souce of noise. I found my computer case itself makes some annoying metalic noise due to harmonic viberation with gpu and cpu fans. I could reduce the viberation noise by holding the case tight. I will probably apply some electric tape or clamps to tighten the case.

Holy crap these things are quiet. I built a PC into a rack, and stole a fan off an old PC I had lying around, but it was only a 3-pin fan, and I wanted more control. So I was looking at a different brand, and the reviews mentioned that they weren't as quiet as Noctua fans. So I dropped the extra money to grab a pair of these. I set my curves, and while I know they're working - because my temps are about half of what they were before I installed them - I can't hear them, like, at all. My CPU temps went from around 55-60 degrees down to around 34-40, so it's definitely great at cooling. Yes, there are cheaper options out there, but if you want a dead silent, very efficient fan, this is definitely worth the money.

At first I thought that the price is steep, but once I got it I understood why - Noctua surely knows how to deliver, and their products are of high quality. The box comes with variety of connectors, anti-vibrant mounting pieces, screws, and the fan itself has rubber corners so even when it is just seated on the desk it keeps it nice and steady with no vibrates on the table. Think out of the box guys - I ordered 2 of these along with power connector to USB cables so I could put one next to my optical router which gets quite hot, and another next to my Surface Pro 8 which also gets hot. Seems to do the job. The only thing I did not find all around the fan, is an arrow which tells in which direction the air-flow goes. So just know that it pulls air from the opened side and throws air through the side with the grill where the cables are showing.
