Easy to Use Deep Fryer
This Hamilton Beach deep fryer is very convenient and easy to use. It heats up quickly, has a good size for cooking, and the cool-touch feature makes it safer to handle. It is easy to clean and works great for making crispy fries, chicken, and other foods at home. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Perfect Frys and Chicken Tenders!
This fryer works great. Nice size for a closed fryer basket. It also has the ability to raise and lower the basket while closed eliminating splatter. Heats up quickly compared to other fryers I have used and clean up is easy. The front control panel easily lifts off and heating element is removed with it. The oil tray can lift out for draining or filtering the oil. The remaining housing can also safely be washed. The price for the fryer was the same as a generic branded one that had fancy controls and timer, but failed to heat oil to cooking temperature. (Had to send that one back)

Works Well
Bought this to replace another brand. This one is easier to use and has more capacity. I would recommend this to others.

Small fryer that works well and is easy to clean
We are a retired couple, and we were looking for a small fryer that would cook just enough for two people, not take up much storage space, not take a lot of oil, and would be easy to clean. This little fryer is not much bigger than our 4 slice toaster, and it uses just 2 quarts of oil. The oil heats quickly. French fries came out crispy and brown. Fried chicken was some of the best I have ever made. The basket can be hung on the side above the oil, lowered into the oil to cook, then raised and hung on the side again. There is also a lid that closes before the basket is lowered into the oil, which helps avoid splatters. Afterward clean up was easy, because everything comes apart. The control panel and heating element lift out to be wiped with soap and water (not immersible). The oil pan lifts out, so it is easy to pour the oil into a container, then it can be immersed and washed. This is an impressive little fryer. It is a bit smaller than I would have liked, and only one battered chicken breast can fit into the basket without layering them; but the fryer cooks quickly, and it is easy to make a couple small batches.

Perfect size for 2 people, easy clean up
We just received this Hamilton Cool Touch Electric Deep Fryer a few days ago and have used it once to cook fish and chips. It is an ideal size for meals for 2 people. This is our second deep fryer, the other is our other home has been in use for a number of years. So we have quite a bit of experience using a small deep fryer. This Hamilton is very well thought out to make things easy. It is easy to clean up after use, does not take up a lot of space when not in use, is in fact cool to the touch when cooking, and has enough power to attain and hold temperature right up to 375 degrees F, with a full basket of food. Not every small fryer can do those simple things. It is intuitive to use. The Hamilton Beach Cool Touch Electric Deep Fryer checks all the boxes for us.

Small but works very well. Cooks well.
This deep fryer was easy to assemble, the basket, and the instructions were easy to read and comprehend. The lid is very useful and keeping the splattering oil from going everywhere. We cooked fried chicken, onion rings, and french fries. It’s easy to watch the items cook through the window at the top, but it’s also easy to open and close while cooking not disturbing the heat of the oil. Reading the instructions it did say not to set the chicken on the basket first and this was my mistake as it did stick to the basket. Placing the basket in the oil and then placing the chicken in the oil solved that problem. Highly recommend. I would say the only negative is that it’s small and I was only able to do three pieces of chicken legs at a time. However, for a couple this would be the ideal machine to get. It just takes longer if you have more than two people.

I don't like the design. Here's why...
I have a 1liter fryer that can comfortably fit 2 large thighs or three small. So I was excited to see a 2 liter, assumed I could easily fir three thighs. The problem is, the heating element drops IN to the oil tank, not underneath it. So 1/3 of the space is taken up bu the heater. The basket was able to fit 3 thighs, but it was tight. And even though I filled oil up the the "full" mark, it barely covered the thighs! so I had to turn them every few minutes. 2 liters to do the same as my 1 liter fryer. Which led to the next problem. I didn't know this (first use) but press the "open" button and the lid pops open faster than a rocket launcher. So if there is condensation inside the lid (there was) there is a splash risk. Finally, since the heating element sits IN the oil, you have to was it every time, not just the tank or basket. The wiring is such that you have to be very careful when handwashing. But I do like that it easily disassembles for complete washing. But overall, I don't like it, I should have sent it back. Three stars because it works, probably fine for French fries or wings. But you're using literally twice the oil for the same results as the competition's 1 liter fryer.

I love this thing.
I've lived all over the world so I feel confident saying that we Americans sure love our fried food. But we don't have deep fryers at home. After buying this, I find that so weird. Sure, you could heat a pan or pot of oil and risk burning yourself. But what will you do with the oil afterward? I always found that the biggest issue with frying at home. This little guy changes the game. When you are done and the oil is cooled down completely, you can either just cover the tank with plastic wrap and close the lid to make a seal or pour cooled-down oil into a big old red coffee container (you know the ones) and throw it in the freezer. The oil lasts such a long time, especially with the latter, without always having to dump it with guilt and/or wash 20 million dishes. The device is so easy to clean as well. Strain the cooled-down oil with a cheap coffee filter and/or fine mesh metal strainer(both for best results!) then scrub and dry the easily detached heating element and the removable tank and you are good to go as long as the oil is still good (and anyone with a working nose can tell when it's not.) Oil is very forgiving as long as you don't have specific food allergies. Not to mention that this fryer is crazy safe. It is designed to be turned off by pulling the plug from the wall outlet and has overheat shutoff protection. Even if you put something frozen in and it starts it bubble up at max heat, rest assured that it shuts off once it exceeds a certain heat limit. I accidentally tested one of the safety features when my gf made the mistake of pouring a small amount of water in it at max heat, and yes the house didn't burn down hugely in part of the shut-off features and YES it still works. If you enjoy Japanese katsu, American fried chicken, Philippines lumpia, or even just straight-up french fries/ chips (which are the cheapest thing ever if you just buy your own potatoes!), this little fryer is the way to go.

Works amazing!
Firstly, I would like to say that you can definitely add alot more oil than what this fryer recommends. Just do not over fill. It fries really well and if you add the extra oil like I mentioned, you can fry enough for a family, but maybe you will have to fry two batches of fries, for example, which is what I did. I really did not want to deal with a huge fryer. It's super easy to clean, as all the parts are removable and once it is washed I just put in my cabinet. That's why I love the size. I totally recommend this Deep Fryer!
