Get the right size tool for what the job requires
All local stores (big box stores) sold Ditra membrane, but none had a 11/64 x 11/64 trowel. They are similar sizes, like next size up, but i didn't want to change and then it would lay down too much mud or not enough... so just in case, i bought the right tool for the job it required it. It wasn't much, and it's a nice trowel over all. If you never did tile before, just remember to throw water in the bucket first before adding the cement. I threw the whole bag in and then added water and it was impossible to get the bottom to mix. So my mud was a bit watery which didn't seem right and half way later i realized my mistake. So i started to mix half the bucket first and then adding the rest of the cement to the very diluted mix. The Ditra membrane went on as stated, and the tiles grab onto it very well. So far, so good with the new floor.

Works as expected. Good construction.
Great tool for laying Ditra. Has a coating on it to protect from corrosion which is nice. It is a specialized toll and so is a little pricey.

We all know that this is priced a good bit higher than it should be. But, it is a decent trowel. I got it to install ditra, but I also use it to put down mosaics, so at least it is not a one trick pony. Quality build and cleans up well. One star off for being overpriced.

Schluter trowel with Ditra system
We used it to put down a new bathroom tile floor and it turned out great! The trowel made a diffference and the Ditra system works well with it. The trowel was hard to find locally and Amazon was the fastest supplier.
