Light-hearted JRPG for the ages!
Destiny Connect piqued my interest back when it was revealed in a Japanese trailer and I fell in love. The music, the art style, the premise.Fast forward to the US releases on PS4 and Switch. I played it on Switch and while there is a downgrade to the graphics and slightly longer load times, everything else is intact.Pros: Turn-based RPG, Music, Characters/World/Story, Pleasant to look at.Cons: Camera/Controls are slippery, No voice-acting, Basic JRPG in story and execution. There is no post-game content, and no New Game +.Bottom line: This game harkens back to a time when this format was common place. You get a time-traveling JRPG that has a intriguing enough storyline, filled with riveting music tracks, and a charming set of characters. It's on the shorter side; most likely you'll beat it around 15 hours. Not having voice acting didn't bother me. We did used to read dialog in RPGs back in the day, didn't we?I'd rate the game 8.5/10

A hidden gem
I found the game to be charming. The fact that you fight household appliances like TVs and Stoves was cute and unexpected. The game is short and sometimes has a bit to much landholding. Like Mystic Quest for the SNES this is a great starter RPG for kids and someone looking to start in on the RPGs. Even if you are a lover of RPGs you can still find something to love about this game. I did.
