As many reviewers have already noted, this thing is a piece of junk. The timer popped itself right off my hose faucet outside which I had set up to automatically to water my yard for newly planted grass seed. I even used teflon tape to seal the connection, and duct tape over the little plastic piece that keeps the housing together (after it popped off the first 5 minutes I tested the product). Even with the duct tape to secure the faulty equipment, it popped off again while I was away from my home & the yard flooded for probably 12 - 14 hours, which was only noticed because the water pressure in my house was weak when taking a shower. My pregnant wife was home alone when this happened, and noticed the issue at 11PM at night. She thought someone had tampered with the hose faucet to break into the house. When I inspected the components the next day, it appeared one of the o-rings was partially damaged. This thing does not work, period. The design is terrible, the components are faulty & cheap plastic, o-rings have no integrity, and you're waiting for an accident to happen if you purchase this thing. It also constricts the water flow to the sprinklers / hoses connected to it, so the water pressure is reduced, meaning I had to manually go out and move them around each day, defeating the purpose of buying this in the first place. I'm returning this immediately and getting a refund.

I ordered this item because I was looking for a low-cost way of keeping my garden on a watering schedule. This was just the thing. The timer easily connected to my spigot and the hose connected easily to the timer. The timer took a little longer to activate after the battery was inserted and I thought it wasn't working. After a few minutes it came on and the process of programming it was very easy to do. setting the length of watering was a big plus and the ability to pause the watering due to rain was also an added bonus. The item arrived before the estimated time frame thanks to the USPS shipping. UPS would have been a lot longer. Overall a wonderful product and a great purchase because I won't forget to water my Veggies!

Despite all the negative feedback, I thought I would give this a try, being a lot of the Big Box stores carried the same item, but at about $5-$10 more expensive. I will agree, it is easy to set up and to understand the settings. Upon hooking it up, I had a major leak problem at the top of the unit around the plastic collar. There is no way to tighten it and kept shooting off the faucet when either the water came on or off; sometimes both. We "jimmy-rigged" and glued & teflon-taped attachments to stop the leak. After 4-5 days, the unit completely stopped working with nothing showing in the display. We replaced the batteries, and found a lot of water to be inside the unit. I saw a review showing a fix to this, but why should I have to do all this? With attempts to let the unit dry out with no success, I went to a local store and bought the same unit. I has worked wonderfully with NO LEAKS from day 1. The new unit even seems to be more responsive to settings. I will agree with another person, is that the unit from Amazon came in generic packaging. It makes me think it was a returned unit, or a refurb. Possibly even possibly from the factory reject pile. Who knows... DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY/TIME!! Go to your local store and get this model, but in the manufactures packaging. I will agree, this is an awesome timer and is easy to use.

I bought this last spring and attached it to a hose, which was attached to an oscillating sprinkler, to water my 3 raised beds that make up my garden. Last year it worked amazingly-it leaked a bit, but only when it was running through its cycle of 20 mins per day. It ran on the same set of batteries from May-August, and it might have still used the same batteries, but I changed them out as August is when I can be called away for work for weeks at a time. I wanted to make sure my garden was watered. Unit worked great last year. This spring, I tried to use it and have had a few problems and ended up tossing it. The screen was unreadable, so i opened it up and let it sit out in the sun for a while thinking water was in there. The next time I put batteries in it, it seemed to work. I got it set up, then attached it to my hose. It is incapable of shutting the water off before and after it’s cycle. The water just keeps passing through, as if the timer wasn’t there and I just had the hose on. I’ve taken it apart a couple times and everything inside is clean, dry and appears to be in working order. I winterized it last year so I don’t know why it won’t work now. It’s a shame, but I’m ordering a different timer that costs more but has better reviews. I wouldn’t buy this one again.

Just received it and I’m impressed by the quality. It takes a lot of button-pushing to set, but is functional, non-leaking, and easy to understand. Can’t wait to use for the season and am hoping it works all summer!

This is a rugged looking timer, easy to read and to program. However, you would be placing a lot of trust in a push-to-fit connection and a flimsy plastic collar should you be using this without human supervision, which defeats the point, kinda. The problem lies in the weak connection on top of the unit and the weight of the unit itself. The bottom connector is a standard and secure threaded screw. The top screws to your outlet, but then relies on that plastic clip to hold it all together. Any sort of movement in the hose or a sudden surge of pressure (such as when the unit engages) and the connection is subject to force and in danger of being broken. Water will flow freely and constantly, and you're going to return home to water damage and/or a large water bill unless you have 100% faith in that 2cent piece of plastic. Returning as even in testing, the unit disconnected with even two out of three times, I tried it on the outlet directly, I tried it inline, with the same results. Go for a name brand and a sturdier method of connection, worry-free this is not.

I was not able to get this to work properly for me. I set the timer according to the instructions and put it on auto. The first time I used it the timer opened the valve when it was supposed to, however the timer did not shut off when the time was over. I replaced the batteries with fresh ones and still had the same issues. A couple of things I wish would be different other than actually work: Setting the time is not very convenient. There is a plus and minus button to change the time but it only moves the minutes. When you first program the time it is set at 6:00pm and if you happen to be setting a time not close to this it takes a while. Some devices would normally advance the hours if you hold the button down for a long time. This is not the case with this timer. You have to wait until it cycles through 60 mins for each hour and continue to hold until you reach the specific hour you want. Pushing the buttons once does nothing. You have to hold them down for a second for the timer to register that you need to move the time. Also, if you happen to hit the ran delay button there is no way to undo this. It will automatically skip for 24 hours. If you want to undo this you have to remove the batteries or reset the device and set it up again. Which brings up another annoyance. This will not save your settings if the batteries die. Once you remove the batteries you have to program it again. If the timer would've worked for me I would probably give it 3 stars since it should provide the basic abilities of setting up a program and letting it run. The items I described above would be the reason I would give it 3 stars. Nothing that would make it horrible to use but kinda annoying in some respects. However, because mine did not do the basics like shutting off the water after the timer ended I can't give it anymore than 1 star. 05/06/19 -Update: Shortly after posting my review the company contacted me to see if I would like to have another unit shipped to me. I told them that I would try it again with another unit. I had a new one within a couple of days of chatting with them. Since then I have used the timer and it works well. The timer has consistently started and stopped when it should. Although my other comments about the timer remain it I am happy that this new unit works well and hasn't had any issues. As I said earlier I would rate this as 3 stars because it does what it should but is fairly basic. At a minimum the ease of setting the time by allowing adjustments to the hours and mins should be addressed.

This sprinkler timer seems to be easy to use and does come with instructions for setup. It would have been nice if the batteries were included already (2 AA required) since I did not realize it needed batteries when I ordered it. The functions appear to be very easy to use and will help greatly to maintain a green lawn this summer.
