simple, reliable switching that solves real rig problems
If you need a straightforward A/B/Y switcher to route your guitar signal between two amps, two inputs, or to bypass parts of a pedal chain, this little Donner box does the job really well. What I use it for • Switching between two amps (A or B), or running both at once (Y) depending on the song/part. The mode switch lets you choose A/B or A&B operation. • Bypassing pedals / routing options on a board without rewiring everything—super handy if you want a “go straight to amp” option. • It also supports bi-directional use (one input to two outputs, or two inputs to one output), which makes it more versatile than you’d expect for the price. Build / usability • Solid metal enclosure, compact footprint, and clear LED status (A = red, B = green, combined = yellow). • True bypass design so it stays out of the way tone-wise. • Standard 9V center-negative power and very low current draw (~10mA). “Pro rig” relevance (why this style of pedal is so useful) If you’ve ever watched players with big stage sounds (think the multiple input / multiple amp vibe—Justin Hawkins / The Darkness type energy), a lot of that flexibility comes from simple switching and bypass routing so you can jump between different inputs/amps instantly without tap dancing. This pedal is a cheap, effective way to get that kind of routing capability on a normal board. Important safety note (seriously) This is for instrument/line-level switching, not speaker outputs. - Use it before the amp (to feed two amps, or two inputs). - Do NOT use it after an amp to connect multiple amp heads to a single cabinet—this can damage amps (especially tube amps). Bottom line A simple ABY box that works exactly as intended: reliable switching, true bypass, clear LEDs, compact, and great value. If you need easy routing options on a pedalboard, this is an easy 5-star.

Donner's New ABY Box is a Winner
First of all, the value of this pedal is priceless. In other words, it is truly amazing but will not break the bank. Donner has created a pedal that operates as an ABY box as well as an AB box. Let me explain further. An ABY box allows you to take a signal, such as a guitar in my case, and will let you connect to two amps simultaneously. I personally use two Epiphone half stacks, one of them is displayed in the photos, in order to boost my power and have louder amplification. Both amps are only 5 watt tube driven heads with matching 1 12" cabinets. I could never find an amp that sounds so amazing, but one half stack was not loud enough to keep up with a full band at practice. Donner's ABY box allows me to push my guitar signal into 2 amps that happen to be identical which doubles my power and volume. -Figure 1 shows my guitar connected to an Epiphone Valve Jr. half stack and a Fender Frontman 10g simultaneously with the ABY feature. The AB box feature is an added bonus. This allows you to take your guitar signal and switch it back and forth between two amps. 1 amp could have just the right clean sound and the other amp could have just the right amount of distortion. Simply click the pedal and switch between the amp of your choice. When the light on the pedal is green, it will push the signal to the amp connected to the "A" position. Click the pedal again and the red light will connect to the "B" position. These positions could be whichever amp you want connected to either output. -Figure 2 shows the pedal being used as the ABY box pushing equal power to both amps. -Figure 3 shows the signal switchable between the two amps. When in AB mode you can switch the signal but they cannot be sent at the same time. It's either one amp or the other but your guitar pedals and effects possibilities are unlimited. Overall Review- As always, the construction is solid. It's all metal and the switch is easy to press yet has a satisfying click every time you tap it. The compact mini pedal design allows me to put a dozen of these Donner pedals on a tiny pedalboard! All the pedals they make are very aesthetically pleasing, in my opinion. The functionality of the ABY box is phenomenal. I paid 3 times as much for a bowtique ABY box that did not have the AB box option. The Donner box is far better in build quality and functionality. Although I've only had this pedal for a couple of days, based on the other 10 Donner pedals that I own, I'm pretty sure this will last the test of time. Donner has done it again with a fantastic pedal and I look forward to what they come up with next.

Wish I had bought this years ago!
Works great! The ABY box allows a number of things to be done, you can switch between 2 inputs or reverse it and have 2 outputs, or you can set it up as a Y configuration. I use it for an "on/off" for my bass input. The LED is great for indicating the "on/off" as it switches between green and red, I put the output on the B side so it's green when active, and when I switch to A it turns red letting me know there's no signal going to the amp. The box is very sturdy, solid metal, and the button is heavy duty with a positive latch. It switches silently, not pop or buzz whatsoever and I can't see any indication that it colors the signal in any way. Some users complained about humming or buzzing, and I had that happen the first time I used it, but then I realized I was using a speaker cable and not an instrument cable. I switched cables and the noise went away immediately and now it's dead silent. I can't comment on the "stickiness" of it because I use velcro on my pedals. Definitely well worth the $32! Don't buy an expensive switch, save your money and get this one because it literally does exactly the same thing as the more expensive brands.

Works great, but tighten the nuts...
I used this twice, but the third time, I noticed one of the nuts had fallen off of the A input. I was disappointed, but it still works great. When I have event performances, like weddings, I use two lap steel guitars and this is a very handy, quiet way to switch from one to the other. I have several Donner products and am happy with all of them.

Good deal for the money. Compact size.
Great pedal. You do not actually need an ac adapter for it to function. The ac adapter only runs the indicator lights. Nice that it’s so small. Doesn’t take up much space. Good ABY switch for not a lot of money.

Excellent and reliable splitter function 👍

Use this in A+B mode to split my signal into two outputs on my pedalboard. No ground loop problems or extra noise issues. Great pedal if you want a robust, simple ABY splitter for a low price.
