DIY Steering Wheel Covers Made of Soft Leather on the Steering Wheel of the Car with Needle and Thread Interior Accessories Black

Steering wheel on my 20yr old Ford Fiesta was showing signs of wear, wanted something to improve appearance and hand comfort when drivingTook a little bit of persuassion to get onto the wheel but with 5 minutes of light stretching and persuasion around the wheel it was soon in place.Stitching took about an hour but I was watching a couple of online tutorials as I went along to ensure I got a good finish around the spars of the wheel, needle and thread included were easy to work withFor what is a very cost effective product and investment of time it was well worth it. If you were to rush it I imagine you could make a bad job of it, so do it on a quiet day and give yourself the time you need and it will be fine.I found that rotating the steering wheel at certain points made it easier to see where I was threading the needle. I made one small mistake where I pulled the thread too tight right at the start so you can see it's stretched a touch at the bottom of the wheel but now we're using it it is becoming less noticible as the material forms to the wheel

I read the rest of the reviews before I bought it and kept in mind the ones that said it was tough to get over the wheel.I lined up the seam at the bottom and used tape to secure the top, then pulled and pushed and stretched and eventually got it on. Yes it was tight, if you've ever fitted a bicycle tyre without spoons you'll know what I mean, but it DOES fit, and the fact that it's tight is a real bonus to the finished effect.I watched a video on YouTube to see how to do the stitching, I used less than one of the two lengths of thread provided and provided you hold the thread tight as you run each stitch you can get a really nice looking result.Once it was finally done (took about an hour) the end result was way beyond what I expected for the money, it looks great and is SUPER comfortable to drive with.Time will tell how long or how well it lasts, but for this money and the time it took to fit I'd happily do one a year if it came to it, hopefully it will last much longer!

Not too bad. Took me just under an hour. I’m not the best person to sew stuff either but quick YouTube tutorial wasn’t too hard to understand. Steering wheel feels much better to use. Please avoid my botched job and do yours properly!

My van steering wheel looked awful, so I ordered this as a gamble and I am very impressed!It takes a bit of effort to get it on, but this means a really snug and good looking fit, and then the stitching is really quite relaxing and very satisfying to see it come together. The end result looks and feels great 🙂I recommend using a pair of pliers to push the needle through for ease.

As you can see in the first photo, the steering wheel on my car had become very worn and it was getting uncomfortable to use as it felt like sand paper on my hands so I purchased this in the hope that it would save me having to replace the whole steering wheel. It was quite fiddly to stretch the material over the steering wheel as it kept falling off in different places but once it was on it was very straight forward and only took about an hour or so to sew into place. It has now been on my steering wheel for over a year and it’s still looking brand new! It’s lovely and soft and has saved me the cost of buying a replacement so I’m really pleased.

I have a standard size steering wheel on a Seat. Unless you have a smaller sized steering wheel this will probably not fit. Only covered about half of mine, with that stitching was not great along with no instructions on how it should be stitched. Good quality for the actual material of the cover though

Had to stretch it to make it fit on the steering wheel and then it was no where near wide enough to sew without a large gap. I won't be fitting this to my steering wheel so it will be in the bin. Looks to be ok if you have a small thin steering wheel, but that's not what I have so no good to me.

Första test fick mig att tro att det var helt omöjligt att sätta på den, omkretsen var inte tillräckligt stor.Min ratt på 37.5 cm i diameter krävt 20 minuter med blod svett och tårar för att få runt den.Med en hårtork och buntband gick det tillslut. Men linjen alignade inte med ratten så efter några dagars funderande beslutade jag mig att göra om det. Den här gången testade jag att lägga "lädret" i kokande vatten i ca 10 minuter. WOW vilken skillnad. Inga buntband, inget blod eller svett.Att sy tar ca 1 timme men är väldigt lätt. Resultatet är långt över förväntan.Men för guds skull, lägg den i blöt innan, allt annat är BARA dumt!

Très bon produit (pas en vrai cuir mais résistant et agréable au touché) c'est le deuxième que j'installe. Le premier sur une Peugeot Ion et celui ci sur une nissan micra 2008. Résultat final parfait !
