Can this light be powered via plug or only by battery?

It can be powered by a small AC cable however it is not included

Will this work with Sony a7?

this light can be used with any Camcorder or DSLR since it is not communicating with the body of the camera. it has a shoe mount to be mounted on the camera but you control it separately, I used it with my Nikon dslr and Sonty Cam as well no problem its very powerful , of course you could adjust the brightness..
