This fan works great for cooling a room. At the lowest fan setting, the air flow is strong. The noise level is a low hum on low speed, a little louder on max speed but not loud enough to bother you. I've had it in the bedroom and living room where it performed well in both places. I was nervous to order since Amazon posted this item is returned often. I had no issues and we love it. My sister has the same fan and she loves it too. I would recommend this for anyone looking to move air and cool the room down.

I bought my first Lasko (Wind Curve Portable Electric 42" Oscillating Tower Fan with Fresh Air Ionizer, Timer and Remote Control for Indoor, Bedroom and Home Office Use, Silverwood 2554) 8 - eight! years ago. Never had any problems. Few weeks ago, I decided to make a little upgrade and purchased a newer model - Lasko XtraAir 48” Standing Tower Home Fan Air Ionizer with Remote Control. Here’s my first impression. Highly impressed by new and improved design to begin with. Tall and sleek. Within same useful features (Ionizer, timer etc.) as in previous unit. Noise level is not an issue for me personally. I use 1 or 2 speed setting without oscillation. I’ve placed it next to my bed, so I could enjoy its “white noise” whirring sound, while falling asleep. Although, it felt kinda unusual first night, when I heard the fan’s “switching gears”. Can’t explain how and why, but this model does that. It’s barely noticeable, but still. I’ve gotten used to it pretty quickly. No biggie. I’ve paid twice as much for Lasko XtraAir than for Wind Curve Silverwood 2554 ($155 vs $68 respectively), and I think it’s worth every penny. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed!

Wonderful product. Ordered July 25 '23, received July 26 '23, way out here in the boondocks of far west Texas where we have no airport, seaport or bus stop or trains. One day delivery is a miracle of efficiency. The fan is all the product description calls for and performs perfectly and meets all my anticipated needs. I have been so pleased with the products of Lasko I have previously ordered (2 Lasko space heaters) and have been equally as satisfied with that I would be happy to recommend their products to anyone for their design and product performance. I like the height of the fan, and it pushes the air around the room really well. It keeps it cool, and for most it would probably be perfect for the noise level, but we’d like it to have a little more white noise while on, especially as it has 4 different speeds to accommodate your wants and needs. Other than that, this is a great fan. It definitely keeps a room cooler without having to turn down the air, or turn up the heat, since it distributes the air flow well.

Bought for use in my classroom while returning to Face-to-face instruction during COVID pandemic. We do not have air conditioning in our school. Needed quiet fan with ionic capacity to be approved for use in classrooms.

I bought this fan for my bedroom. I have a tall bed, so I wanted to make sure to get something that can blow air actually towards me. There is a hum when you have it set towards 3 or 4, but to be fair, this fan is pretty powerful so I get that with more power comes a little noise. I do also have the 42-inch Lasko fan that I bought in 2020, which is quieter, but I can tell there's a bit less power to it. I usually keep the 42 in the living room. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase of this fan.

This is a summer must have. I live in a second floor loft and I need this to aid in keeping the area cool. I'm a hot sleeper so this is on almost 24/7. So far I've had no problems with it and have even suggested it to friends.

The fan produces a relatively good amount of air flow. In fact I will go so far to say that I was pleasantly surprised. It definitely makes a difference when I have it on in a room, but there’s also a drawback. I purchased two of these within about two weeks of each other and they both make a somewhat high pitched sound that is somewhat annoying and it makes me question its sturdiness over time. With that said should anything happen within my return window then I’ll be sure to put their Customer service to the test. I would also like to add that when attaching the base there is a Styrofoam protector that comes over the top of the fan. Use that to help hold it in place when you flip the fan over to install the base trust me it’ll save you a lot of heartache. Other than that assembly was extremely easy
