The very best way to cut crown molding
This excellent product allows for the ability to cut crown molding perfectly every time. We just finished a project on my sonโs new 3000 sq ft home, and it worked flawlessly. My wife, the trim carpenter of the household, had installed moldings for years using the flat cut method. She installed layer upon layer of moldings, often creating an appearance of 14-16โ crown in our 130 year old money pit. The home had 12 foot ceilings and it looked incredible. The problem was that was 15-20 years ago and we have gotten old. This product made the entire process extremely easy. My son, with no experience at all, caught on very quickly . We used an adjustable clamp to hold the wood to the guide. That really helped since we were cutting 12 foot moldings.

Do you Crown ?
Im' a wood worker, I made some cabinets and then after installing them I attemped to install crown trim, Well It was a challenge and I never finished, Crown trim sits at a 30 to 50 degree angle from its desired place and so when cutting you must cut compound cuts simultanously because the wood sits flat on the saw (miter saw), The difficult part is the placement of the blade since the resulting cut is on the bottom of the saw you cannot see where this is happening, thus you make an error nearly time. So this jig lets you cut the wood as you see it with your eye (or rather how your going install the trim in its place), or holds the wood so the cut can be seen, additionally when marking the wood with the face toward you so you can work around blems and such. YOU SIMPLY CANT CUT ACCURATE CROWN TRIM WITHOUT IT. Even a wood worker with years of experience with angles and bending wood I could not finish the crown with out it. I noticed a crown trim jig at the wood show this year and they had the same idea only they wanted a $1000 for their jig, this one was under $25 and it works great. A Must have, a standard issue for any cabinet installer. High Five!

Great tool. Two people makes it easier to use.
Was my first time installing crown molding. Very pleased with the results. Have to be careful that the trim is positioned on the saw correctly. Sometimes โjumpsโ when starting the saw. Would be nice if it could somehow be clamped into place or maybe some rubber feet to hold in place. Used a helper part way through to assist in holding while cutting. As a DIY guy, canโt imagine doing it any other way. Almost all successful first time cuts. Great tool. Wife is happy with the results!

User Friendly Tool that simplifies mitre cuts
So far so good. Iโve only completed one cut so far. This product is 10,000x better than Kregโs mitre jig tool. No one wants to do the upside down method, it takes some time to reach yourself this old method. This is a project that does take time and effort to learn the mitre cuts when you do not do it everyday. As Peppa Pigโs Father would say โI am a bit of an expertโ and will find a way to win for this project. The only thing I would have liked is the โgrey clampโ on the box. Holding the jig, crown and pulling down the saw for precision cuts is not the easiest thing to do. Good luck

Works but needs some design cbanges
The product works but at times thereโs a struggle to get a good cut on pieces longer than 4 or 5 feet. Thereโs a piece that selects the angle that should lock in place. It was always falling out almost every time I move it after a cut. I would recommend that they look at a redesign to fix this. My workaround was to wrap tape all the around to secure it. The other issue I had was that itโs not sturdy enough. To hold a piece in place while cutting requires some pretty good down force and the plastic design kept flexing. I would love to see them design in a downward clamp to hold the piece while cutting. Any slippage in any direction led to an improper cut. 1 degree off could mean an 1/8 in gap. Overall it allows you to just cut at one angle and makes it easy to go between inside and outside cuts. The product is good enough for small projects like a room or two. But anything more than that, Iโd recommend taking the time to build a larger jig the mimics this products functionality.

What a great tool
I had to have something to help me cut the crown moulding in the kitchen I just spent $3000.00 remodeling(I did all the work myself.Counter tops, sink, drywall, tiles, the whole nine yards).I had ABSOLUTELY no idea how to cut it.I tried on multiple occasions in the past and even a few times on this job but just could not figure it out.Maybe I have no spacial reasoning,I don't no.Anyhow,I didn't want to waste hundreds of dollars on wood.I saw this thing in action on youtube and bought it. Let me tell you that this is THE BEST 30 bucks I ever spent.I had it all measured and cut in about an hour and a half.I still had to make sure and double check my positioning but trust me,I was a dunce when it came to cutting crown.I have a 10 inch Delta chop saw.It was a bit bulky on the small deck. But other than that,it was a breeze. When I was finished the biggest piece of scrap I had left was no bigger than 2 inches. What a God send. The living room is next.then the dining room, the bedrooms, the bathroom, the basement.....you catch my drift:-)I highly reccomend this tool.I am no longer intimidated by cutting a piece of wood.

So glad I found this crown molding jig!!!!
Make cutting crown molding an absolute breeze. So much easier than the crazy settings I would have to use on my chop saw. Now it's 45 degrees one way or the other. I was easily able to install crown molding in my 3 bedrooms that did not have it. Would give this 10 stars if I could. (I'm a 57 yr old woman that is an occasional DIYer).

Milescraft 1405 Crown45 Crown Molding Jig for Miter Saws
I purchased the Milescraft 1405 Crown45 Crown Molding Jig for my Dewalt sliding compound miter saw and started working with it two days after it arrived. Prior to attempting to use the jig I watched the video on the internet numerous times so I became familiar with the cuts I was going to make. Prior to starting the job I measured the room so I had all the dimensions prior to my first cut. The jig was easy to set up and work with right out of the box. The only word of caution is that when the jig is on the right side of your saw blade, pay careful attention to where the jig is in relation to the blade. My first cut I actually took a small slice out of the jig on the right side because it is difficult to judge the position of the jig and the molding with the saw blade. Other than that minor mishap, the jig did a fantastic job of cutting the proper angles. The jig was very easy to use and the finished product came out magnificent. Any caulking that was necessary was due to uneven walls or ceiling. The cuts made with the jig fit together perfectly.
