Re-Release of Cult Album
Jawbone was a band made up of musicians from three different sources, who came together to write and make an album, which they hoped would enable them to play the music that they liked. Unfortunately, the album was not promoted and the band not supported by the label, Carnaby Records and both band and album quietly disappeared. The musicians all went on to good and lengthy careers and over the years, the album created it's own cult following and at one stage, was selling for hundreds of pounds on the underground and then online markets. Sadly, three of the original musicians have since died. This CD was created from analogue sources, from which it benefits. The excellent background notes are written by the exemplary American musicologist, Stefan Granados and the original fold-out cover has been re-created in CD miniature by the excellent, retrospective record label, Rev-Ola.If you were ever tempted to buy the album but were put off by the huge cult-inflated costs of the vinyl version, then you'll find this CD a bargain - it's all there, plus extra tracks and photos and great notes.
