Hi, How do you use this on a freshly cut tree stump 15” dia

This is the best tme to apply this. Drill holes in the stump and fill each hole with the dry crystals or liquid . The holes should be near to the outer edge of the stump. Cover the whole stump with a black plastic bag and weigh it down to keep rain out. Leave it like that until next Spring by which time the root should be dead and new shoots will not spring up. If the tree is leylandii, you will not need SBK as those roots die anyway.

Does this affect the soil? Will it affect the ability of other plant life to grow in the area where the tree stump was?

Did not affect the soil round my tree stump - simply slowly kills the tree stump.

Would this kill plants growing round the stumps?

No. Drill holes into the stump using a large wood or space bit. Pour in sbk and leave. It will take months but the stump will rot from within

How long does it take to work? I first sprayed on a freshly cut tree stump in March ...

It depends on the sizeof the tree stump. I cut my Willow down to ground level. The base was about 6" in diameter. I also drilled holes in the stump for the liquid to seep down. It will take a very long time depending on the diameter of the stump. I have not had any regrowth but the trunk has still not rotted down yet. You have to be patient I'm afraid!
