Scalextric C7006 Digital Chip for Non DPR Saloon Cars

I bought two of these, one each of the C7005 & C7006 and I need 15 more! The C7006 is for the Saloon cars and I have a range of them from the 1970s through the 2000s. I installed this inside a 2007 Audi TT. It takes a little thinking about but this later model car has is fairly easy to adapt although you will need to use a soldering iron. I've opened up a few of my other cars, and I can see some are going to be easier than others, but I'm looking forward to getting them all working on my new digital layout. The first time I tried the car, it did not work as I had put the brushes back on incorrectly.....so read the instructions and take their advice, and verify the car works before putting the body back on!

The bottom line is that if you have specific types of Scalextric cars and a digital track, you need this specific converter to use those cars on that track. Period. End of story. The converter works perfectly, and if it were simple to install, I'd give it five stars. As it is, it took me about half an hour to install it. Next time around I could likely do it in a third to half that amount of time. But it is a little convoluted and you have to watch what you're doing. Works like a charm... just wish it were as simple to install at the other digital converter types.

Mittlerweile fährt man auch auf der Scalextric nur noch digital. Um auch die "alten" Fahrzeuge digitaltauglich zu machen hat man mit dem Chip das passende Tool dafür. Werde nach und nach alle meine Fahrzeuge auf digital umrüsten. Geht auch mit Carrera oder anderen Autos die man auf Scalextric fahren lassen will. Macht Spaß !

This car was bought as spares for my collection of aging Boxters as it was undamaged but without a digital chip. After a couple of weeks seeing it sitting on a shelf doing nothing I decided to take the plung and buy a digital chip without regard to possible chassis mods over time. I shouldn't have worried it worked almost first time (me getting the polarity wrong first due to wiring colour changes).As long as you can handle a soldering iron reasonably well (and mine falls a little short of reasonable due to shaky hands. NOT alchohol related I may add) and can manage the small parts then it's a breeze. Programme the controller for the hand control to car match and you're off. One 2nd hand car now has a new breath of life

Easy conversion as the alternative on older non-DPR slot cars always check the instruction carefully splice onto existing wires rather than remove off the motor

Once it was installed in a non-digital slot car, it worked perfectly. No problem. I recommend it.
