"Wide Sargasso Sea" by Jean Rhys as a postcolonial response to "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte Kindle Edition

I wanted to purchase Jean Rhys' book "Wide Sargasso Sea" to read during a trip to Dominica. Obviously I did not read the description well because that is NOT what this is. Come on, Really $10 for somebody's research paper? I believe you were counting on people like myself who did not pay close enough attention to what they were purchasing. As I didn't try to read the book I thought I bought until I was actually on my vacation it was too late to return to Amazon for a refund. What a waste of $10 and I still don't have a copy of the book I wanted.

In all honesty I was actually after the novel Wide Sargasso Sea, which I read many years ago, but I did find this review (?) very informative.It brought to light some of the insights I had had regarding the characters, and their relationships. I believe for anyone wishing to read Wide Sargasso Sea, it would be quite an insightful tool.

This was not the product I wanted. I wanted Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys which is a fantastic book. This is not it and I was therefore bitterly disappointed and felt the product had been mis-sold. I am wondering why Jean Rhys's best book is not available as an ebook?

I gave one star because I hated it. I said the author's writing was "great" because she did an EXCELENT bait-and-switch job on me. I should have seen what was going on but I didn't. I fell for her sleazy trap and bought her college paper when what I wanted was the book by Jean Rhys.Shame on Malgorzata Swietlik for her slimy subterfuge. I hope she takes my money, buys herself some groceries, prepares a lovely meal, and chokes on it.

I also did not realize this was not the actual book by Jean Rhys--which apparently is NOT available as a Kindle download. I requested to return the item to Amazon--I hope that works I've never done it before.

Like everyone else has pointed out: false advertising, and I have absolutely ZERO interest in a crappy paper riddled with typos that costs $10; when what I should've received was a classic piece of literature.

Pretty angry that I didn't see that this is a poorly written seminar paper about the book I actually wanted to buy. I'd love to get my money back.

My intention was to order the book not the paper! Very disappointed as I had downloaded it, in hope of reading it while travelling.

I bought this on the basis that the listing said it was "Wide Sargasso Sea" by Jean Rhys. It is in fact a dreadful essay on the meaning of the book, which appears to be a translation and very poorly rendered into English. It is also full of typos. At this price it is a complete waste of money: it is not worth buying and doesn't even rate one star, though that's all one can choose.I accept that I should have been more careful in reading further down the page on which it is listed, but I blame Amazon for listing the heading so badly. I was buying what I thought was the book and find I have been totally misled. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

I only received the notes and not the book, so no comment! I would be happy to receive the entire book at a later date.

Its not the book which is fine as long as that's made clear which in this case it was not. I bought what i believed was the book & when i confidently started to read it was disappointed. I was misled into believing i was buying the book. Amazon must make it clear when its a critical essay not the book. I now am too late to claim a return, feel really cross.

Ordered on Kindle thinking it was the actual book by Jean Rhys. Fortunately it is possible to return a kindle book, so I will now order what I originally wanted. This really needs to be made much clearer in the book description.
