Have just used bay rum taconic shaving soap with an Edwin jagger DE razor fitted with an astra platinum blade and Edwin jagger badger brush . This soap is excellent quick and easy to larther straight from the puck . Face feels really good fresh clean and vibrant . Normally i use TOBS sandalwood pre shave oil beforehand . But to give this soap a good first tryout i left that part out and just used taconic soap .Was able to do a three shave pass with out any irritating or razor burn 'no need to pre oil with this product razor glides like an arrow . Will be using this for sometime my only negative is the smell could be stronger hence 4 star not 5 but still a lovely soap .

This soap is unusual , very strange scent woody ,spicy with a smell of fern.Lathers well needed a boar hair brush to get amongst it,Very creamy needs plenty of water,does the job. did not pick out the tobacco,or hemp,did smell some cedar though.

doesnt really lather that well i put this into a shave bowl and it takes a while to lather no big deal there but the amount of lather is a little disappointing am a bald face head shaver so i need more lather than most for a shave but even so other soaps seem to work better and give more lather and glide i find this can get tacky after a minute or two on the skin

Really nice shave soap, smells nice great glide and plenty of lather

At first I didn't really like the scent but that was probably because I was using a Lime and a Coconut soap at the time. I kept with it and in a few shaves found this to be the go to soap. It lathers well and produces a clean shave and a clean feeling on the skin after the shave. To top it all off, it lasts for ages!! Would I buy it again - yes.
