An Intriguing Novella; A great lead-in for the series.
The writing was crisp and clear and the story moved along at a reasonable pace. I wish the story had been a full novel rather than a novella but I understand the author's strategy in formatting it as such. A few small editing errors crept in but I believe these may have been the fault of the process used to convert the original manuscript to the Kindle format rather than omissions or errors on the part of the author and editor. There is some violence initially in this novella but it was necessary to establish the story and I felt the author presented it as tastefully as possible, avoiding graphic details. There is neither sexual content nor profanity, which in itself is a very pleasant change from most of the recent offerings in this genre. I wish there was a rating choice of "very good" for the author's rating; I would have gladly selected it.I congratulate the author on this endeavor.I am intrigued enough with this story to purchase the novel that continues the story.

Whoa.....that was awesome!
Have you ever thought, "Man, I wish I could stumble upon something epic like Harry Potter, before it gets famous"? Of course you have. You like to drink and chat about literature, and it makes an excellent dinner conversation. Maybe you don't even like to read, but you saw Eddie Vedder play at some dive bar before Pearl Jam blew up, and now you won't quit talking about it. If any of that sounds like you, well now you can do that with a book! The Hubbles have something here. You won't be disappointed.Ash grabs a hold of you right from the get go. It is fast paced, well written, and comes with surprise twists. For being such a short book, it has wonderful character development. Once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down! I am very excited to read the upcoming books! So do yourself a favor, get the book. It's only a dollar. Plus, you got bragging rights for when you see this on the big screen. :)

A shocking attack shatters an age-old peace
The people of Aereas are going about another beautiful day when a shocking and brutal attack threatens all they know and hold dear after five centuries of peace. The survivors of the initial attack are left with little more than questions as they face a grave and uncertain future. Among these survivors are Berit and Calier. Strangers prior to the invasion, they have little choice but to rely upon each other as they flee their shattered city and seek shelter elsewhere.ASH opens with a bang, hooking readers with intense action, compelling characters, and allusions to the rich history of the Am’Segid people. The story progresses rapidly, often shockingly, before arriving at a clever cliffhanger that left me ready for more. With several more books slated for release over the coming months, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on the Farpoint Initiative series. You should be, too.

I read this based off the reviews and was pretty disappointed. Not intriguing enough for me to want to read more. While the explosions start pretty easily on (good!) the action gets repetitive quickly (bad!)This book is very poorly edited, there are words missing from sentences pretty regularly.

Good Read, But....
I suppose if the invaders hadn't turned out to be the stereotypical evil humans I would have enjoyed this more. It is written fairly well, you get into the characters quickly and the story moves you smoothly from one scene to the next. The author stumbled a little in using terms that would have been unfamiliar to an alien race, but that is no big deal. As mentioned, however, the antagonists are humans from earth, doing what they do best in destroying peaceful cultures whose sole purpose in life is love, the arts, and looking at rainbows. Blah blah, yadda yadda. Been there done that, seeya.

Nice introduction to the Farpointe Initiative
I enjoyed the Europa Collective, so I expected to like Ash as well. Ash is an excellent prequel novelette to introduce the reader to the Farpointe Initiative. It chronicles the invasion of an alien planet by what appear to be humans. The story is part of Amazon Prime reading, and I enjoyed reading the story, and look forward to reading the next story, Sojourners. I hope to see more about Calier’s people. Now I have two different Aaron Hubble series to keep my eye on.

Wonderful start to a great new series!
I absolutely loved this book, as well as the second one, and am anxiously waiting for #3 to come out. Plenty of action, a very different slant to who the "good" and "bad" guys are, and I can definitely see the bad guys coming from where they did. Keep up the good work Mr. Hubble...you've sure got a good thing going with this series, and I can't wait to see how it all plays out in the end.

Excellent Story
I enjoy a storyline with a lot of details. The characters are placed in the correlation of events. I also think that many characters are the mainstream in this story. I recommend you try this book. Deeman
