Is it safe for all ponds?

Yes! All K&H heated products have been tested & certified by MET Labs to exceed USA/CA electrical safety standards. Our pond deicers include the cage, meaning they are safe to use in any pond including preformed and plastic lined.

Does it require any special maintenance?

K&H deicers are easy to clean and maintain. Check the deicers regularly and keep the heating element free from mineral build up. Spot clean any build up, soak in vinegar for about an hour, and scrub away debris with a soft brush.
