Grünbaltt WC Seat for Duravit Starck 3, made from solid ureal plastics

I had a nightmare trying to find a replacement loo seat for my Happy D toilet. These loos are quite compact so most toilet seats are too long, but the biggest issue is that the hinges on these loos are 270mm which is substaintially wider than a standard loo. Tried all the major highstreet DIY shops to no avail and a Duravit original replacement seats are over £100 which quite frankly is ridiculous. I'll be honest I was expecting disappointment as I have had to return so many with the wrong dimentions but this is PERFECT. Fits bang on all round and was super easy to install (this is for a top fixing toilet, not one that bolts underneath - it comes with pictorial instructions and the parts are colour coded with stickers to make it easy) and looks great. The soft close is excellent (it's currently very slow but I am sure it will loosen) and it has a high quailty finish and feels study - no loo seat slipping here :) It's not quick release (so if this is what you want then don't buy) I am a very happy buyer.

Nice toilet seat, very sturdy. Didn't want to pay the silly price for my original duravit toilet. This fits nicely at third of the price.

The seat and its opening mechanism seem to be of good quality. However, it was bought as a replacement and, attempting to fit the seat I discovered that this is only possible if the toilet is not mounted on the wall. Fixing requires access from under the toilet which is impossible if the toilet is mounted due to the configuration of the porcelain within the toilet.

As with other reviewers, I was frustrated to see how expensive the Duravit replacement toilet seat costs. Mine is currently retailing at around £180! Also, the seat has broken twice! I'll never buy another Duravit toilet again - that's for certain. Having bought another toilet seat that didn't fit, I came across this one and gave it a go. I'm please to say it fits, looks and operates just fine.

Good quality and easy to fit. Soft close works well on both the seat and lid. Not quick release, but just 2 screws to loosen, so given the saving this is ok.

I was in the impossible situation of having to replace a Duravit toilet seat. It broke and, when i looked to replace, i realised that the size of the hinge holes was far wider than most other toilets. So better and much cheaper and easier to install toilet seats do not fit. I will say this model fits exactly right and is about half the price of an actual Duravit toilet seat but it is still far too expensive. Its a really basic toilet seat and that's all. The instructions were not very clear but but mostly fine to install. It is really important to also but the Duravit hinge plugs. They are not included in the fixtures but you can buy them separately on here for about £8

I am returning to Amazon for a refund. The seat itself is on a soft close mechanism but the lid is not and slams down potentially catching tiny fingers (which is why I wanted soft close). The pictorial instructions are limited and do not show all the steps required to assemble so some working out was required. Plus the pictures are tiny so you need very good eyesight or a magnifying glass ( I am "only" 45 by the way!!) I already had dowels in the toilet but it turned out they were defunct (probably got damaged when I removed the old seat so do be careful!) - I then had to order them separately and wait again before completing the job. Why not include them? I am ordering the next most expensive one to replace this (£83.99!) lets hope its much better.

Fits my duravit stark 3 perfectly. Easy to fit. Just know that the rubber plugs for fitting are not included but you can pick them up for £6-10. Update 8/11. Now gone from 5 to 2 stars. Today the lid for the seat has lost its soft close and just slams down. Will talk to Amazon tomorrow to see what options are.
